Angie Fox is the New York Times bestselling author of several books about vampires, werewolves and things that go bump in the night. She is best known for her Accidental Demon Slayer urban fantasy series. She is also writing a series about a group of paranormal MASH surgeons. The first book in the Monster MASH trilogy, titled Immortally Yours, is out now. It will be followed by Immortally Embraced in February 2013.

Angie earned a Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. She worked in television news and then in advertising before beginning her career as an author.

As the gods rage, the rest of the world falls. Unwilling drafted into the war between the old and new gods, Dr. Petra Robichaud works in a MASH unit, patching up wounded immortal soldiers and sending them on their way. Her latest patient is different than the rest as he sparks something in her long cold heart as she scrambles to save him, and accidentally reveals her ability to see ghosts, an instant death sentence. To protect herself, she tries to stay as far away from him as possible, but that proves difficult once he decides she is the one in the ancient prophecy who is supposed to stop the war. Galen would move heaven and earth for peace, and his method of persuasion is seduction, the one tactic Petra seems helpless to ignore.

I absolutely loved the setting for this book. It reminded me of the MASH tv shows that I watched growing up, only with a supernatural twist. Not only was the setting in a war triage unit, but there also was a great deal of humor just like the old episodes, making it a very enjoyable read. The paranormal elements only stepped my enjoyment up an even higher notch. There was a plethora of supernatural characters blended in with Greek Mythology, making for a very rich world. I particularly loved the dynamic between Petra's bunk mates, the werewolf and the vampire as their interactions were hilarious to say the least. Add that in with the constant prank attempts and the very nosy nature of the entire MASH staff and the crazy, but fun hilarity of it all kept me very entertained.

Petra and Galen made for an interesting couple to say the least. There were so many obstacles in their path, and yet something about them seemed to just perfectly fit from the very start, even though it took a while for any real "magic" to happen.... Granted all the resistance came from Petra's end, but she had a very good reason for trying to hide herself from him and his demands. Not only could opening up to him mean an instant death for her if her secret abilities were to be revealed, but also his insistence that she is the prophecy absolutely terrifies her. Even so, Galen was relentless in his pursuit making him seem almost caveman in his pursuit, yet he somehow made it so charming at the same time. Petra's sass and frustration became rather hilarious at times as she tried to avoid Galen left and right. In fact, because of this I almost enjoyed the build up more than the actual relationship, and considering my strong love for all things romance, that is really saying something.

The overall feel of this Immortally Yours was really interesting, and quite entertaining. Both plot and situation the characters were placed in, were rather dark, and yet the entire book felt rather lighthearted due to the large amount of laugh out loud moments. This blend of dark and light made for the perfect afternoon read. With all the darker paranormal romances/urban fantasies that I read it is always nice to come across a lighter title for a change of pace. With laugh out loud humor, stellar characters, and an awesome mythology to boot, Immortally Yours is not to be missed! Read more ›

The war between the immortals is raging out of control, in the balance hangs the lives of all the mortals on earth most of them never knowing what's happening on the front lines in Limbo. One ray of hope is the prophecy that's predicted to turn the tide. A healer is predicted to sound the charge and change the outcome. Dr. Petra Robichaud meets those predictions but she's been burned before and is not in a believing frame of mind anymore until a certain Demi-God turns up on her operating table and not only makes her think the prophecy has a chance but also effects her in a visceral way that hasn't happened in many years. Galen of Delphi is an immortal warrior who believes wholeheartedly in the prophecy especially when the sexy doctor saves his life, touches his soul and takes his heart. Galen knows she's the missing piece of the prophecy puzzle but convincing her will be the hardest battle he's ever fought. Will Petra and Galen fulfill the prophecy and save all the mortal and immortal souls or will they burn in the fires of Hades.

I have enjoyed Angie Fox's Demonslayer series and when I opened the pages of her debut novel in her new series I thought I'd find something similar, I was right and wrong. I found the comedy relief that the first series provided but I also found a darker tale a story that held a more serious feel. She introduced me to many new characters and did a great job of building not only them but her new and dark world as well and makes me wonder where she goes from here. Her dialogue is what you might find on any battlefield, a take no prisoners speak that fits her story and characters well. Her romance between Galen and Petra have obstacles that seem impossible to overcome and their love scenes burn like the vents of Hades featured in her novel....
If you liked Angie's first series I think you'll like this one as well, if you're into adult fairy tales, hard urban fantasy with a romance this one fits that bill as well. If you're tired of the copy-cat series and are looking for something unique you'll like this one too. Read more ›

Who can forget the outrageous humor from MASH? Angie Fox injects that humor into an urban fantasy world with an over-the-top frontline medical team who would inspire Hawkeye to transfer to their unit. Add one demi god soldier who rattles Dr. Petra Robichaud. Soak in passion, suture with prophecy, and prescribe seduction for a roller coast ride that rivals the still in the Swamp.

I applaud Fox for borrowing elements from an iconic TV series to create a unique paranormal world that truly entertained me. I infrequently read paranormal but I would return to Monster MASH again and again for this guilty pleasure. Don't deny yourself - join the fun with IMMORTALLY YOURS, stat!

Okay I'm going to be completely honest here, which is what I'd want from a review. I LOVE Angie's Demon Slayer series, and will admit that they easily became a obsession of mine. When I saw a post about the MASH series I went looking, and my first thought was MASH the TV series. I could help but be a little wary at first, but my interest rose when I saw the snippet of the cover. 'This looked like a book I would read.' Then I got the awesome chance to read it. It's step away from the path the Demon Slayer series takes but a perfect step, one I hope she continues with for some time. For completely selfish reasons :).
In true Angie Fox form I wasn't let down. I couldn't put it down. Angie created a world inside a world that blended perfectly with her characters. I fell head over heels for Galen from his first appearance, he had enough vulnerability to make you want to hold him but at the same time held that warrior aura that was all alpha male. Petra turned out to be a heroine I could connect with with a normal hometown past she had no choice over sudden turn her life took. I loved the mixture of humor (how could you not have humor when you bunk a werewolf and a vampire together)with the cold harsh reality of the war going on around them. For me it was a knock out of he park, and definitely on my re-read list. Can't wait for for Immortally Embraced.
