5.0 out of 5 stars I love this CD
I have been a Christian for many years and thought Christian music would never improve. I thought the hardest thing out there was Kutless. Well, much to my delight through internet searching I dicovered bands such as Soul Embraced, Extol, Living Sacrifice, Demon Hunter and many others. I have played "Immune" many times and love it more each time. It is so...

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album
This is an excellent thrash metal album. The vocals remind me a bit of the black metal style. A previous reviewer made the comment that Soul Embraced's drummer is the same drummer from Evanescence. This is actually not correct. The drummer for Soul Embraced is Lance Garvin, he was also the drummer for Living Sacrifice until they disbanded about a year ago. The...

Well, much to my delight through internet searching I dicovered bands such as Soul Embraced, Extol, Living Sacrifice, Demon Hunter and many others. I have played "Immune" many times and love it more each time. It is so awesome to be able to feel the intensity of bands that aren't just screaming about stupid stuff. Life is powerful and so is "Soul Embraced". If you like your music as driven as you buy "Immune".

4.0 out of 5 stars Better Than the First, June 21, 2005
This review is from: Immune (Audio CD)
I've had this cd for awhile. This is an album that grows on you the more u listen to it. At first I thought it was good, just not great. But the more I listened the more I liked. My favorite songs on this cd are "I Bury You", "Abandoned", "Someone Just Walked Across My Grave", and "Own Your Own". If your a Living Sacrifice fan then pick this one up.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am amazed, astonished, and surprised at Immune!, February 1, 2004
This review is from: Immune (Audio CD)
This CD is amazing! It breaks boundaries! It makes Korn sound like wimps! If you are Christian and are in need of heavy metal, then I suggest that you pick up both "This is My Blood" and "Immune". These are CDs from the group Soul Embraced, one of the best metal musicicans around! Even if you are not Christian and were deeply disappointed with Korn's "Take A Look in the Mirror", please pick up "Immune" it will make you feel happy! I admit that SE have softened up, but I think its for the better. To me, "TIMB" was a little too hard and edgy. But with "Immune" they have made an album suitable for all metal heads! Do pick this CD up, and go see them on tour if they come to your town!

5.0 out of 5 stars where did I hear this before?, October 17, 2007
This review is from: Immune (Audio CD)
I have been a hard rock/metal listener since the age of 14 and these guys amaze me. they sound like the Everdawn with Arch Enemy singer Angela Gossow taking over vocals, and they even have some melodic singing thrown in for good measure. for more variety of Christian rock/metal, purchase As I Lay Dying, Zao, Petra (RIP), Stryper, Bloodgood (RIP), Extol, Jacobs Dream, Tourniquet, Hangnail, Demon Hunter, Mortification, Narnia, Showdown, Underoath, Kutless, Norma Jean, Flee The Seen, and War Of Ages, as well as Living Sacrifice (RIP).

4.0 out of 5 stars A good cd. 3 1/2 stars, June 2, 2006
This review is from: Immune (Audio CD)
Boy, I've had this cd for a while now. Can't believe that I haven't reiewed it yet. Here goes. Immune was my fourth metal disc and I have had it two years now. I don't have their previous albums, so I can't make any comparisons here. But from what I heard, their fist cd is death metal and their second cd is death metal with some hardcore in it. On the other hand, this disc is basicaly gothenburg metal mixed with hardcore and a little nu-metal. It's not a bad release but definitely could have been better. It's very melodic throughout and the lyrics are somewhat dark. My only real complaints is that it is too short, 38 min., and the music starts to sound the same, and thar I wish that they were a little harder and kept a little more death metal in their sound. Too bad it was their last cd, Lance, rocky, and Chad make a great team.

The guitarist for Soul Embraced is Rocky Gray. He was also one of the guitarists for Living Sacrifice. Rocky Gray is the drummer for Evanescence. This album is excellent. Though not quite as good as "This is my blood". But that's just my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid State!!, January 10, 2004

After listening to other bands such as The Agony Scene, As I Lay Dying, Cannae, and Killswitch Engage (all highly recommended!), I decided to give Soul Embraced's "Immune" a try. After popping it in and listening to the first three songs on headphones, I was HOOKED!! The first highpoint I noticed about the recording was the clarity...the guitars, drums, and vocals, etc. And, omgasms, you can hear the BASS!!!!! My least favorite song from the record is "Immune to Emotion". Don't get me wrong, EVERY song on this cd is solid, and well-written. Every song contributes to the whole of the cd. Some of the transitions between the verses, choruses, ands uch are a little abrupt...but the music ROCKS!!! The mix of guitar work from Rocky Gray, fast and smooth drumming from Lance Garvin, and hardcore vocals from Chad Moore creates one r0x0r cd! I'd give it a 4.5/5.0 . Although the cd isn't perfect, it gets a 5 / 5 (it's closer to 5 than 4).It's definitely a cd to own if you like the bands listed above. So give it a shot!!!

don't get me wrong, this is an awesome cd and definitely worth buying. i do, however prefer This is My Blood however. i've always prefered balls to the wall metal and that's exactly what "timb" was. they lyrics this time around i'm not as fond of, with my favorite song being "someone walked across my grave." i still love this cd and play it when i'm driving to work all the time! one of my fav bands!
