Why we cant find imodium anywhere else,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Imodium A-D Anti-diarrheal Ez Chews, Cool Mint Flavor, 40-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
I am a commercial truck driver who travels back and forth across the country and I often have troubles. I do not sit at truck stops for 10-hours a day like most solo drivers which would give me time to get my troubles out of the way. I run with a co-driver and we run 24-hours a day with no immediate access to bathrooms.
My biggest traveling companion was the Imodium A-D caps, which I cannot find in any truck stop, any walmart or pharmacy in any state no matter where I go. Cannot find them on-line either. I did some research on-line and found that there was NO RECALL. The manufacturer is "re-structuring" and they plan to have their products back on shelves by sometime this fall. Until then, I am stocking up on these EZ-Chews, which so far seem to work when my guts start to feeling a little funky. I have not yet tried the liquid form nor have I tried another brand of A-D like a CVS brand, which the pharmacist says has the same incredients. I have read a lot of complaints about how the price of anything by Imodium has climbed significantly. It is because it is harder to find and everyone is stocking up. Much like bottled water and canned goods on shelves here in Florida whenever we have a strong hurricane coming our way. Everyone and their brother runs out to fill their gas tanks and stock their own shelves with those kinds of goods because they do not know if they will be without power for a couple of weeks. The prices of those items are not supposed to raise. But, we're talking about Mother Nature and potential for loss of life and devastation here. That is not the case for those of us suffering from irritable bowels especially when we can just as easily move to other A-D products, which can be obtained with little to no trouble. So why have the prices of Imodium gone up? They work. We want them. They know it. Little Katie and Little Bobby have to go to college afterall. So, deal, pay it, retain a lawyer or buy something else. Personally, I wish y'all would just buy something else so I can buy these up for myself.

A Godsend for People Who Can't Swallow PIlls,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Imodium A-D Anti-diarrheal Ez Chews, Cool Mint Flavor, 40-Count Box (Health and Beauty)
After my mother had a stroke, it became difficult for her to swallow pills. These chewable Immodiums were truly a Godsend. These tablets provide immodium efficacy in a palatable mint flavor. The mint is okay with a slight bitter aftertaste. It is not sweet enough to be attractive to young children. I too am frustrated and annoyed that these are almost impossible to find at retail establishments. Occasionally they are available at Kmart and CVS but now that they are on Amazon, I will purchase them here. The bottle I purchased has an expiration date of May 2012. I always keep imodium on hand. It is a quality product that actually does what it promises. The chewable form is a boon to those who can't or won't swallow pills.

For some reason these e/z chew tablets are not readily available in my area. I have ordered these twice in the last year or so....
The product is fine, but I find the price is exorbitant compared to the non-chew type. Is there some reason these are scarce? What seems to be the problem?
