Attractive book, luscious photographs, clear illustrations. Loved the apron project, but had difficulty with one step. Most projects are well conceived and presented, but I would have liked even more photographs and illustrations on some. All projects are small and a great way to use up quilting scraps. The fabrics used in the photographs are from Kaffe Fasset's collections. Other fabrics will work as well but, if you are lucky enough to have some of his fabrics on hand then you will be compelled to get started immediately. A very approachable, motivating book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Easy to Use & Full of Beautiful Crafts, January 8, 2008

This is one of those books that should be a staple in any crafter's home. Though it is certainly a beginner's book - it serves as a reminder to advanced crafters of the possibilites of quick and simple gift-making. The instructions are clear and come with detailed illustration of almost every step. I have used this book for making several gifts, including patchworked potholders (not your Grandma's potholders either - these are way more hip), and patchworked pillows (again with the "hip")... and all projects have come out beautifully!

This book is very useful for a beginner quilter. The directions are clear and the coordination of fabrics are exquisite. The entire book uses Kaffee Fassette materials for all of the projects. How can any book fail with that?
