5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read! July 12, 2010
This is a great book. Reading this makes clear that the way the war aftermath was conducted ensured that there would be no lasting peace. The writing is great and the book is easy to read and extremely interesting. If you are interested in this subject, you must read this.

4.0 out of 5 stars The atrocities of occupation. February 27, 2012
All that was going on in my head while reading this book was, 'Why?' Why invade another country? Why invade a country and totally ignore its religion and traditions (by serving porc in the cafeteria, for example)? Why invade a country then lie about the real motives? Why invade a country when no lasting peace can be maintained? Why invade a country knowing that its native population stands to suffer tremendously. Why whys and whys!!!!! That's all I could think off.

The book describes life in the Green Zone, and the little respect the Americans had on what was going on beyond the Zone's walls, and all the lies to protect the few who had much to gain. The book made me really angry.

I really thank the author for bringing to light what the Iraq war was all about, and about the careless attitude, lies, and corruption the invading force displayed. This is a must read. I also recommend watching the movie, 'Green Zone,' based on this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book March 27, 2011
Great writing about the personalities culture within the Green Zone. The story cuts through the clutter of news headlines and political rhetoric to put a human face on the American occupation of Iraq.
