Although the fit would be alright for me, the chemical dye smell is so bad that I can't wear them. I have washed them at least 5 times, I've soaked them with some vinegar, and they still smell awful. I haven't decided if I'm going to hang them up in the garage until the smell fades, or just throw them away.

I didn't like these jeans and I returned them. They are very cheap and some people are willing to sacrifice quality for that, but not me. The waist was very tight, while the legs were very loose. This had the effect of giving me a muffin top and at the same time making me look saggy. They didn't complement my body at all. If you're willing to trade quality for price, by all means get these jeans, but I personally did not like them.

I took a risk and bought these jeans from all the not too good comments these jeans got. Mine arrived perfectly, it fits very well and there is a little smell but not too much. These are a great pair of jeans. The quality is a little coarse but I can't expect it to be perfect quality at this price. Buy one size up! These run on the small size.

I really REALLY like the jeans from the link above, which I tried on first when I recvd my order, so I thought I would love these too. Same brand, same size, basically same style (the back pockets are different) and different color, but these jeans just fit...weird.

They are pretty tight in the waist, so I would suggest maybe ordering a size above your normal if you insist on buying these jeans. I do like the dark color and the leg fit is perfect for fall and boots.

I will keep them in my closet until it gets cold and I can wear oversized sweaters and boots as to mask the fact that the waist is a little TOO tight.

Still a decent purchase for the price, arrived very quickly.

and my product didn't smell...I feel bad for the bottom reviewers, but I had no problem with the smell of either of these jeans.

I needed basic black jeans as a staple for my winter wardrobe. I found these so cheap so I decided to try them. I love them. They are cute and they fit great. Go well with flats or boots over them. Great find. buy them!

I was nervous when I placed this order because all other reviews say this jeans stink. I have bought brand name jeans that have unpleasant smell and I wasn't sure how bad this could be. But to my surprise they don't smell at all!
I am woman's size 5 junior size 16 and I ordered size 7 which fits me perfectly. I guess the sizing for this jeans is in woman's sizing system but they measure in a tightly fitted way.

I bought these because the price was great and I needed something bigger then my pre-pregnancy size to wear during early maternity. I ordered them according to the size chart and they arrived quickly and were exactly what I wanted. Only negative thing is they had a chemical smell which was gone after the first wearing. The fit was perfect, loved the length they look awesome with everything. I can even turn the cuffs up to show off my shoes.

I bought one pair of these a few weeks ago. They were so amazing that I got another pair, and one kind of like them. These are perhaps the best jeans you're going to get for under ten dollars brand new. I love skinnies and more than that, black skinnies.

Had these pants for a few weeks now. Smell is FINALLY going away. Agree with other reviews about the weird chemical smell. I thought they fit okay, but I am far from a fashionista.... Overall, I'm not complaining. Not bad for less than $10.
Edited 03/02/11 -- Noticed today for first time that the brand I was sent is Imperial Star Jeans, not Vanilla Star. I don't care about brands, but you might.

I needed a new pair of black jeans so I ordered these.

Normally you have to wear jeans to soften them up, but the disgusting smell and the unbearable roughness made it so I couldn't even put them on. Honestly, these jeans are gross. They smell like chemicals. I washed them in the machine, they still smelled and were uncomfortable. I Soaked them in warm water in the tub with fabric softener, they still smelled and were still rough. I don't want to go all the way to the laundromat to wash them again! Also, tons of black dye came off in the tub, probably all the chemicals.

Finally I brushed them with SANDPAPER to soften them up. After a white it worked but the sandpaper, THICK SANDPAPER, was rubbed off the pad because these jeans are so rough. They are softer and now I can wear them but they still smell. Way too much trouble, probably the worst pair of jeans I've ever had. I've wasted too much time fixing the problems that the company should have already solved.
