interesting music for Yello fans,
By TBo (Chicago) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Impersonator I (MP3 Download)
For fans of Yello, this is essential listening. I had originally gotten this recording as an LP when it was first released. At the time I didn't realize that it was a 45rpm recording, so I listened to it for years at the 33rpm speed. I liked it a lot at the slower speed. Now I'm adapting to listening to it at the faster speed. It has an entirely different atmosphere. If you have the software to do it, I suggest slowing it down to hear it at the slower speed. The percussive tones that become dominant at the slower speed are the core of the early Yello sound. Aside from the percussion interest, the words of the songs are strange and curious, bringing to mind Dali and the surrealists.
