Book Description

Harlequin Historical June 1, 2008

Beauty and the blackguard

Moments after Persephone Hathersage stumbled upon a band of thieves, the terrified young lady was spirited away on horseback! But trepidation soon gave way to scandalous desire when her brooding captor tenderly nursed a feverish Phona back to health.

Spellbound by the battle-scarred blackguard who kept her confined in an ancient fortress, Phona knew any impropriety with this nameless rogue would tarnish her reputation forever, not to mention plunge her into even further peril! However, appearances could be quite deceiving....

More About the Author

Hello, dear Reader!

Thank you for looking at my Author Page. I'm Patti Rowell, writing as Patricia Frances Rowell. Yep! Patricia Frances is my real name.

I live in the woods of north Louisiana on thirty-two acres of trees with My Hero, Johnny. We designed and built our house ourselves. It is on a hill and has several levels and lots of decks, porches, and balconies.

My study is on a second floor level and has three walls of glass. With the forest outside, it is a tree house.

My Hero and I, together, have seven children and thirteen grandchildren.

I have been writing for Harlequin Historicals since 2001 and have published five books with them. I love writing! I am a born story-teller, as my friends will attest.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Patti

4.0 out of 5 stars drama, drama, drama, July 21, 2008

Like the first reviewer, I really enjoyed this book -- the hero and heroine of this historical romance seemed quite realistic to me. The references to greek tragedy coupled with the antics of the heroine's mother along with the antagonists offer over the top drama, but as much time was spent on character development, it works. Rowell offers an easily read, flowing style of writing and considerable attention to detail. Interesting couple of twists. It was quite creative and I was struck at the natural progression of the actual romance of the characters. Lovely!
