Ok so just got this tug out of the box and for the price, she's a beauty, come on, you cannot find a tug for this price. Okay so it has some cheesy decals and has a toy feel, but for those who have any hobby sense and know how, this is a gem. Out of the box it runs well...ok Its controls are basically BANG BANG with no digital proportion. Rudder control is total crap, probably 10degrees port and at most 5 degrees starboard and it wants to tip over with any gust of wind. So with a little work this tug can become a real workhorse. Check out modelboatmayhem.co.uk and it will show you how to gut out its insides. Basically I changed first the rudder system, took out the stock crap and placed a real servo, turns on a dime. Next put a decent Electronic speed control, bout $20 from hobbypeople, and a 2.4ghz surface radio for another $20 from hobbyking.com. Dropped a bunch of lead ballast in the hull and sealant on all the seams. Oh and I use 4500mah batteries with run times into a couple of hours, compared to 15mins on the stock junk. Now this is my second favorite toy, I usually fly r/c seaplanes hence why i bought this. This tug has saved my planes and me a swim on a number of occasions.

Well in conclusion this is definitely a steal and a whole lot of fun if you can put the time into it, probably a couple of hours for an experienced builder or someone with a little know how. Definitely recommended!

This boat was great for the first 10 minutes. The motor was strong and the water cannon worked great. All of the sudden, the power was cut to almost nothing. Even after charging the battery overnight, the propeller barely spins fast enough to move the boat. Looks great, but quality is horrible.
