Lori has a chance to win a dream house built anywhere in the continental US in a contest she didn't even enter.
She doesn't need a dream house, but she does need a car and an alternate prize is two Corvettes, her favorite car.

Meanwhile, Chance, a neighbor she has yet to see face-to-face, turns out to be other contestant (neither knows the other is in the contest and will be their dream date). He would love to win his dream house.

Lori and Chance each think they aren't ready for romance at this point in their lives, but, of course, romance is in the air no matter how many capers and mishaps might distract them from it.

Betty Jo Schuler is an excellent writer and Impossible Dreams has great characters, humor, romance. This romantic comedy will keep you laughing and turning the pages.

I really enjoyed this book because it was far more than a fun story about two people entering a competition. The author, Betty Jo Schuler, delved deeper and deeper into the characters of Lori and Chance as the story developed until, in the end, they discovered that their true dreams were not the ones they had been following after all. Then she helped them to realise that those dreams were possible. They just needed to be brave enough to take a chance. This is a real feel-good read.

I didn't know what to expect when I first started reading this book. What I got was hours of laughter. Sort of reminded me of some of the 'I Love Lucy Shows', you know... with the most outrageous situations that could happen during a show taping, probably will happen.....you know that sort of thing.

Lori and Chance end up on a reality show, one that Lori found herself as one of the top 4 contestants, even though she had never entered the contest. That is a mystery in itself, but who would have thought she'd be paired with her mysterious neighbor in this contest? In fact neither of the two had a clue as to their own neighbor being the person who they lived next door too.

There were times when I thought this reality show was a farce, and just a set up type of thing between their family or their friends. But it turned out a lot differently then I thought it would. The only thing that I wished for was a better ending. To me at least, it seemed to end a little abruptly.

Would I recommend this book? Yes!

This is the third book I've read by Betty Jo Schuler, and I think it is my least favorite. The plot seemed too far-fetched, and the characters didn't seem as real as in her others. In fact the whole novel seemed rather superficial.

There were several errors. It was hard to follow the dialogue, since speakers would change without a new paragraph. There would also be additional spacing between the same speaker's dialogue, so it looked like there was a different speaker at first. In fact, there was often a lot of extra spacing between paragraphs, which was a waste of space. There were run-on sentences and compound sentences without commas. "Know" was used for "now," and, with flashbulb photography and roll down windows in the car, I'm assuming this is an older book. There were also a few pre-marital sex scenes.

The plot and the characters in this one seemed a bit artificial. Still, if you'd like a light, non-serious romance, I did find the novel somewhat entertaining.

I thought this was a very well written book. It has a good story line and was a very entertaining book.
I could hardly put it down. I would recommend this book. It was a little racey at times. Not necessarily for a young teen.
