Two years ago this past April, a friend gave me one of these frames. My best friend in the world, Lucky Boy, was 17 years old. He had been a Therapy Dog with me for 14 of those years. When I got the frame set, I made the paw print with Luckys' help. The quality of the product is equal to frames at twice the price, and the ease of using it was much greater than I imagined, like totally simple and fast. Lucky and I missed the first couple of times, not because of him, but because I didn't have him sit for a few will I prepared the putty. If that happens,,, Not a problem though,,, simply reshape the putty and give it another shot. This is NOT a time sensitive / speed thing you have to do. After three tries, I now have the most memorable testament to his life together with me. As the picture, I chose one of us with his best doggie friend in the world, Beauford, that had gone to the Rainbow Bridge 2 years earlier. On August 21st, 2007, I had to give Lucky Boy his final gift from me. Lucky loved the beach and the paw print reminds me of his paw prints in the sand when we went for walks there. I have bought many of these for others and I recommend it as a wonderful way to remember your special four legged friend. It may sound strange, but having the paw print impression along with the picture, allows me to feel that he is at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for me. You will feel the same way if you have this happen to you. I cannot think about anything that is as simplistic as this product, yet it so rewarding in what it does.
PS: I don't know what the putty actually is, but I have had mine for 2 1/2 tears and there is NO shrinkage or Cracking. Great Product!

Fortunately I didn't waste my own money on this, it was a gift for Christmas. My dog Max is 8 1/2 and has been diagnosed in the last 3 months with lymphoma. I have a feeling the gift was to help us remember him when he finally leaves us. The directions are simple, however, the clay/foam material to make the impression of the paw is extremely hard to work with and mold properly. I tried many times to get a decent impression (Max is almost 80 pounds and I had 40 pounds of his weight resting on the clay, and *barely* made an impression). Finally I mashed all the clay back together again, and now it's very lumpy and even harder to work with. I've tried re-wetting to get back some malleability, but it just looks horrible. Maybe real modeling clay would be better. If this last impression doesn't come out right, I'm going to improvise with some other clay. The frame however is very nice...the paw impression media leaves a lot to be desired.

We got this for our aging kitty. It's super easy to use, and it doesn't matter if you don't get it right the first time, or the second time. The mold can be reshaped and done again until you're satisfied. My husband and I are thinking about getting this to use for our 15 month old daughter because it's so easy to use!

I love the two fold frame and the color of it but I found it difficult to get the paw print mold looking nice. It was hard to smooth out the edges and have them follow into the edges meant for the mold without having seams and indentations. I spent about an hour trying to make it look good and finally gave up. It's still a cute keepsake but looks nowhere as nice as the pictures.

actually good quality for the price.. no glass covering the paw print side of the frame but again it was only $10 so for the money i spent i got more than what i wanted. i bought 2, one for my 65 lb catahoula and one for my boyfriends 8 lb toy dachshund, both prints came out well the putty isnt difficult to mold and you can redo it as many times as needed. i decorated the printcast and the frame and even put their baby teeth in the mold to make them extra special.

While it is great to have my cat's prints next to her picture, I'm not liking all the extra space around her paw print in the frame; it looks tacky & cheap. I also would have liked a darker wood but i'm guessing the contrast would have been too much; it was extremely easy to get her print.

I bought this for my Great Pyrenees who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and wanted to make sure I always have a memory of her.
Pros: Great memory/keepsake item of my pet, simple concept, no baking/heating requirements, cute picture frame - comes with everything you need Cons: Putty is hard to knead and smooth, have to push your pet's paw pretty hard to get a good impression (my dog was not very impressed with me), not really enough putty for a bigger dog (I simply had to roll into an 'acceptable' circle and go with that instead of cutting a square), hard to cut the putty (I tried to make the square). It took my 4 tries before I got a good print. It is drying now, so hopefully it will dry nice and I'll be able to finish the frame with a photo of her to display.

Our Misty just had her 18th birthday and I thought I'd like to ha\/e a special memory it. The clay wasn't what I was expecting, but it wasn't at all hard to work with. I flattened it, rolled and shaped it, then we did the paw imprint. I messed that up myself, just rerolled the clay and did it o\/er again. Pretty quick and easy, can't figure how anyone had a problem with it. I'm sure that I will be grateful to ha\/e this throughout the years.
