Every autumn and throughout the winter, I play this CD allowing each note of the songs to harmonize with the changing of the autumn leaves, from yellow to orange, to red. The beauty of the Windham Hill artists interpretations of Faure, Debussy, and Satie just come alive. Their notes seem so light, clear, and crisp like that first day of cool winter air. They pick up so much of natures's beauty to the familiar composed pieces. The overall arrangement of the pieces flow well and smoothly until you had realized that it's time to push the start button again. This is a beautiful work and is highly recommended.

Erik Satie never sounded so good. Windham Hill is legendary for compiling the best in the music business to create CDs that have music that is rareley heard anywhere else, and phenominally good. I also own other Windham records, of which my two favourites are: Touch: 25 years of guitar, and now The Impressionists. I HIGHLY reccomend purchasing this CD along with 'Touch'. It's money well spent.

I have a number of Windham Hills recording and I think The Impressionist CD is the best of them all. Each track on this CD is fantastic, it is truely difficult to pick a favorite.
If you are a Windham Hills fan you will want to add this CD to your collection, if you are not acquainted with Windham Hills, this is wonderful CD to become introduced to the best music they have to offer.

I play this Windham Hill compilation, along with their stunningly beautiful "The Romantics," and "A Different Mozart," almost every day. It makes perfect background music when you're working, and is wonderful to listen to when relaxing. I never tire of it.

This is one of my favorite CDs and is both relaxing and interesting. Highly recommended.

I bought this CD purely for the first track, it is such a beautiful arrangement of Faure's Pavane. Someone had emailed me an mp3 of the piece about 8 years, but I had no info on who it was was performed by or where to find out. It took me 8 years and alot of posts on bulletin boards to finally find out. This Cd is worth it for the first track alone, although there are a bunch of other nice tracks on here.
