4.0 out of 5 stars The don in fine form in the late seventies, November 27, 2006
This review is from: Impressions of Leroy Smart (Audio CD)
While this Leroy Smart album dosn't include his better-known classics like Shame and Pride, Ballistic Affair, I am the Don or others, it does include some scorching songs with the Don's soulful vocals to the fore. This guy is a great singer - and when his volcals are coupled with a memorable melody, such as on Don't Let me Down (not the Beatles song), Rasta Time, Backout Weakheart, Jah is my Future Guide and the song about gambling, then the album is worth your money. Even the less memorable trcks on this album are okay - and all the way Smart's vocals are top notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid With Hidden Gems, April 16, 2010
This review is from: Impressions of Leroy Smart (Audio CD)
Not only is this a solid all around album from Mr Smart (out of the Burning Sounds stable which means it doesn't overlap a lot with others) - but it includes the fairly rare Back Out Weak Heart which is a version of Wayne Wade's Lee Perry/Black Ark recorded classic (Black Is Our Color).
