Review

"A true servant and history maker is someone who puts their life on the line for the glory of Jesus' name. Books like this challenge me, and I know it will challenge you, too." --Martin Smith, Lead Singer, Delirious?

"A true story of one of my heroes, this is one of those 'you can't put it down' books. Dan is a real and true man of God. His book will impact your life and could change your future." --Loren Cunningham, Founder, Youth With A Mission

"Dan Baumann's harrowing experiences in Iran were the stuff of nightmares. Yet his is a story of faith and courage, and of God's protection. This detailed account has the power to encourage many in the midst of their own trouble to abandon themselves, as Dan did, to the providential care of the Lord." --Duane Litfin, President, Wheaton College

4.0 out of 5 stars Story of A Guy Who Went to Iran, June 5, 2003

One of my favorite things about this book is that you can see that Dan loves the Iranian people. Dan is just a guy who went to a different country, with his own human foibles, but a special love for his Muslim friends. Even though Dan was imprisoned in Iran, the Muslim people are portrayed compassionately. One thing connected to this, is a small insight into the hidden supernatural realm and how it negatively affects one of the prison guards from his usual demeanor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating -- a true God story!, May 8, 2002

As I ponder on what I have read in this book, I find it amazing the perspective God can bring into a situation such as this one. Dan Baumann's book -- actually his life -- is inspiring, encouraging and brings motivation to uplift Christ and love our enemies no matter what the cost.

I must say, had this experience been had by a non-Christian, I'm sure the book would be full of anger, bitterness and rage toward the Iranians... Yet, this book is full of hope in Christ.

Dan, though doubting and afraid, truly hears God's voice in the midst of his imprisonment, and glorifies God in everything! A great book -- don't miss out on it!

I have bought this book for so many people as gifts to encourage them. People who are not "into reading" can't put it down. Dan reveals the depth of his love of God & man while honestly sharing his fears, doubts and needs. This book is a must read for anyone who cares about Christians or Muslims.
