More About the Author

Genevieve Montcombroux

Born and raised in France, I wrote my first novel at age twelve. In order to get it published, I founded a newspaper for the lycée I attended. It was an instant success, even after the profs read it and allowed it. I sold my first short romance at sixteen to support my meagerly paid budding dancing career. Later I went on to writing novellas and short stories, always romance.

Emigrating to the Canadian Arctic and learning about the Inuit dogs was a dream that came true after I married her own hero and had two children. I have written a score of books in French from children's fiction to romances and in English, romances - Trails of the Heart (a reprint of Northern Lights) as well as non-fiction books - The Canadian Inuit Dog: Canada's Heritage; Improve Your Romance Writing - not to mention numerous articles including a column and feature articles for Dogs in Canada over the period of a decade. My work has appeared in an Anthology of French poets, and in several French short stories anthologies.

For a while, I also delved into erotica writing with A Brush with Passion; and Dance of Desire; written as Cassandra Colt, published by Genesis Bokks.

I was also interested in writing scripts, maybe with a view of becoming the writer of the next blockbuster film (have a giggle). My Romance Story, graphic novels online, published Collision Course and Wanted Man written as Michelle Vawn.

Since then, I have been reassessing what I really want to write, and I am again working on novels, which of course will include some romantic elements.
My passion for the North and sled dogs is drawing me to write about it. Also, I am thinking about a new series which would mesh with my other passion, dollmaking and a world of fantasy. So many ideas...

I live with my husband and eighteen Inuit Sled dogs in a pristine area of the Interlake region of Manitoba in Canada.
