I'm a psychology major, and I'm finding out that if you don't like writing papers and essay questions...don't major in that!!! Because there is a lot of writing to do. My professors already liked my writing, but it took me for-damn-EVER to write ANYTHING. I thought, "I've got to speed this up - and improve my writing anyway."

Long story short, I found the Ron Fry How To Study series, and found this book. I can't say enough about how it's already improved my writing. I'm getting my degree by distance education, and so I can "pace myself" throughout my courses. But I was taking TOO long to finish essay questions in my assigments. Two weeks to finish five questions? Come ON. I knew I could do better than that.

I had always organized my papers and essay questions "on the fly" - I'd do it as I went along. And that worked...sort of. But I took Ron Fry's advice about outlining everything, and, man, the whole process became SO much easier...and faster. On my most recent assignment, I finished five essay questions in two DAYS - not two WEEKS, like I would have before. And I took his advice about doing quick outlines for essay questions on a test, during a final exam recently. Although the whole process took just as long as it had before, my questions were better organized, and easier to write. I could also remember what I wanted to write more easily, because it was right there in front of me, laid out the way I wanted to write it.

Get the whole How to Study series, if you can. Hell, get ALL of his books! It'll be one of the best investments you ever made.

The fifth edition is same as the third edition but with further details. I liked them both and it really doesnt matter which one you have fifth or third, they are all the same not much of a difference!
