About the Author

Ganesh P. Shivakoti is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics at the School of Environment, Resources and Development of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok.

Elinor Ostrom is codirector of the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis and is the Arthur F. Bentlley Professor of Political Science at Indiana University. She is past president of the American Political Science Association.
