Still more from the Second City student ...,

Not the funniest of the Nichols and May albums, this is the duo's first CD. It consists of various piano pieces which they use as a springboard to launch into improv sets. None of them really made me laugh out loud, but more than one are oddly touching. Recommended for enthusiasts.

Absolutely amazing, clever, well-organized. Some of the funniest and best comedic bits i've ever heard. the music is prime and the characters, eerily and horribly fun.

I grew up listening to this album - my parents were hipper thanthey thought. I didn't understand much of it, of course, but soon had it memorized word for word. I was astonished upon first listen of this CD that there must have been alternate takes of the sketches - "Cocktail Piano," for instance, lacks an inspired "What the hell--" from Mr. Nichols that i always appreciated on the LP version. Odd, humm? I adore this LP and am soooooooooooooooooooo pissed it will cost $30 to replace my copy that was stolen when my home was ransacked. I am more or less comforted knowing the thieves may be enlightened when they check it out. But I doubt it... Amazing, beat, existential improv. A must own.
