Like the other reviewer I was looking for a watch/heart rate monitor that was more appropriate for "business" clothes. This is a beautiful men's watch (I am a woman but like a large watch) and the dual display options are useful. The monitor appears to be accurate. The only criticism I have is that the led display of the heart rate is difficult to see in outdoor bright daylight. Mostly I do my walking in the evening so this is not much of a problem for me. Inside a building it is easy to read. A simple but elegant and useful watch/heart rate monitor.

Well I've had this watch a couple of month's. It's great. The reading's are not off by much if any. It's the 1st heart rate monitor i've owned. I would definitely buy another. It has an alarm, tells the date and time in Red Led. Great for darkness time readings. I would expect a watch like this to cost much more. Definitely buy it. If you don't I Definitely will.

My father has a pacemaker that has long outlived its expected life span. As his rescue heart rate is questionable, this is a source of anxiety for him. But so many of the watches look like $10 drug store versions. This is the first analog watch of its kind that I've seen. Though it has a rubber (typical of exercising) wrist band, it has an attractive face. No one would guess that it was a heartrate watch also. It reads time in both analog and digital (by pressing a button) clearly. And the heartrate is easy to read when displayed. This was a gift and I am thrilled to have found it for him. So is he.

I bought this when there was a sale on it here on Amazon - it's my first watch (or any item I own) that displays heart rate information. I have another watch that has a digital compass on it though :-P In any case, this is a very good, sturdy watch. I'm impressed. It's heart-rate thing seems to be pretty accurate as well. The only con I can find to the watch is that it's fairly weighty (it weighs a lot more than my other watch). Otherwise - I'm pretty impressed and would reccommend it!

I searched for the right heart rate monitor to track my heart after a major heart procedure. The Impulse turned out to be the right one for me. I have big-boned wrists that most rubber sports watch bands barely fit. The Impulse band is plenty long. Make no mistake, this watch is a big hunk of iron. I think the styling is very good looking and functional. The monitor seems to be quite accurate when compared to other heart rate monitors. The display is difficult to read outdoors on a sunny day, but I have learned to live with it. All-in-all I think it is a great watch, that does it's job with style, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Would have loved to know you can't get a reading when swimming laps. While many have complained about reading the LED in sunlight, I find if you shade the watch with your body or anything it does become ledgible. HR readings are very very close to doctors equipment. Would definitely recommend purchase and it's the best looking watch of this type I have seen.

There isn't much not to like about the Impulse Ana-Digit watch. I was a little skeptical of it's ability to be an accurate heart-monitor at first, but liked the fact that it had stylish looks and would be just as at home with my every day, 'shirt-n'-tie', work attire as well as my sweats. I work in the dental sales industry and have access to professional-grade Pulse Oximeter's and was happy to find that it held +/- 4 bpm with a high-end unit one of my customers had,... I don't think he was as impressed given the price of the unit I sold him :),... but 'apples-n'-oranges' and all that stuff :)

In addition to its' good looking analog design, I love the fact that it has a well-lit digital display that's simple to use - I've found that I use this functionality all the time and the Ana-Digit's display is clear and bright in low-lit areas. In fact, last night I used this function several times during the "Steely Dan: Aja" show I went to at the Paramount here in Seattle. I live well north of Seattle, so I had to attend the show right after work in the fore-mentioned work attire and I was curious as to how long this aging bands' set would be as they were simply plowing through every great song of their illustrious career in addition to playing through the entire Aja album - start to finish. I'm happy to report that they played every song I wanted to hear and their set (with encore) lasted 2-hours and 15-minutes - GREAT SHOW!!

Great looks, great functionality, accurate, and simple to use. This little watch has exceeded my expectations and it's become my "all the time, every time" watch,... pun intended :) For those on the fence, JUST DO IT! to coin a phrase :)

it's a great watch and a very usefull tool when you need a constantly monitor of ypur health

I had purchased a top of the line digital heart rate monitor watch from Sportsline it looked good but programming it was time consuming and tricky,so I returned it. I then purchsed the Impulse for an everyday watch,and it proved to be very good. Its easy to read,and easy to work,and looks great.I generally guage the products value to me based on the consumer reviews, because returning products to amazon is not that easy,and is costly, so to avoid that whenever possible i use the reviews as my guide...Value-Looks Style = 10

Very nice. Also cycles through time, date, and day of week with the LED display button. It's true that the LED is difficult to see in bright light, but that's a minor issue to me.
