I bought this pedometer mostly to track the amount of miles that i run on my long runs when i am running through the streets or if i am on a trail that does not have mile markers. However, in order for this to be accurate, you have to measure your "stride" which is very difficult to do (the directions tell you how, but maybe i'm just bad at following them?...) To make this easier, I took it with me to a trail that was marked at each mile and i pretty much have set it close enough to reflect the correct mileage.. however it is still a little off... anyway, overall this is okay if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a high tech pedometer. Also, it measures the amount of calories you burn and the amount of steps you take, which i don't use but just FYI! Happy running/walking! :)
