From the Back Cover

I am going to send an angel in front of you,
to guard you on the way.
Exodus 23:20 NRSV

When Joan Wester Anderson wrote Where Angels Walk, millions of readers were captivated by her inspiring
collection of true stories of angelic intervention. The book  remained on the New York Times Best-Seller List for over a year.

In the Arms of Angels is Anderson’s newest collection of mysterious and heart-stirring stories of heavenly guardians. From the harrowing account of a World Trade Center survivor to a miraculous rescue during the first Gulf War, these powerful stories invite us to take another look at the “coincidences” in our lives—to open our eyes to the angels who walk beside us.

“In times of uncertainty, we long to be reminded that, as Joan Wester Anderson writes, ‘We are not alone.’”
—Rev. Timothy Jones, author, The Art of Prayer, Workday Prayers, and Celebration of Angels

“In the Arms of Angels is a true gem, a book to be treasured.”
—Jessie Frees, radio host, WMTR/WWTR New Jersey

More About the Author

Joan Wester Anderson began writing in 1973, as a way to bring home a second income for her family of seven. "It was to be a temporary situation while I figured out what talents I had," Joan says. However, she never got around to deciding; instead she slipped into magazine feature writing, and did an occasional book, too. "The books never sold very well--my mother sometimes bought a copy---but they gave the illusion that I was somewhat of a professional, which was important for my self-image."

In 1992, Joan realized that her children had all finished college and moved away. Perhaps it was time for her to do the same. One of her sons had experienced an amazing miracle, so she decided to write one last book in thanksgiving to God, and then return to college to prepare for her next career. Instead, her "thanksgiving book" became a New York Times best-seller, WHERE ANGELS WALK, and some twenty years later, it has sold almost two million copies.

Joan is widely regarded as one of the two writers who began the "angel craze," and spoke around the country as experts and talk show guests. Today she is the author of nine books on angels and miracles, and continues to send out stories to her mailing lists of "angel lovers."

Recently Joan discovered that she has five grandchildren, all extremely adorable, and is currently cutting back on her work to spend more time with them.

What sets Joan Wester Anderson's book apart from so many others with the word "angel" in their titles is her journalistic discipline. At the heart of each of her "In The Arms Of Angels" narratives is the diligent research and scrupulous fact checking that is Wester-Anderson's literary signature. It's little wonder that the last person to be rescued from the horrors of being buried alive at the World Trade Center on 9/11, chose this New York Times best-selling author to tell her near-death angel story. No one delivers a compelling, credible read on heavenly beings like Joan Wester Anderson. No one.

This is an amazing book. It is especially nice to send to people who are going through a tough time. It is helpful to those who are dying as it reminds them of God's great love, calms their spirit and gives them a sense of peace.

My children love to gather on our bed and listen to one of the stories. I give it my highest rating. Anything this author has written is worth keeping by my bedside.

At a time when more than 75% of all Americans publicly admit a belief in angels, IN THE ARMS OF ANGELS whets our appetite for angel information as it delivers a feast of wonderful stories about amazing and mysterious angel encounters. From tales of very young children saved from death by watchful guardians to stories about helpful men and women who have warned, protected and reassured those in need... these stories will make you want to laugh, cry, and get goose bumps of amazement. IN THE ARMS OF ANGELS is a perfect book to read at bed time every night, to remind us that we are never alone, and that there is always help at hand when we most need it. I give this book my very highest recommendation!

As I mature, the existance of angels in my life and my awarenes of their impact on my life, has renewed my interest in them. This book relates stories of others who also have been impacted by them also and how it affected their lives. It is interesting to find out how active angels are and the various ways they make their existance known. In The Arms OF Angels does exactly that!
