This book is about the election of President Obama and specifically the media's presentation of candidate Obama to the voters. The book details, with over 1,200 references, the election from the announcement in February 2007, to the acceptance speech in November 2008. People on the right claim Obama received a pass from the media and it dwelled on his celebrity...people on the left say it was too harsh and misrepresented his experience. The issue of race was woven throughout the election cycle, weather his first victory in a majority white state of Iowa or his relationship with Reverend Wright, race was used by his opponents, discussed by the pundits, and never left the campaign. By learning about how the most covered candidate in presidential history was presented by the media, we become more aware of how the media operates and how we must dissect their information in a responsible manner.
