A real find!,

I stumbled across this release while browsing around one day, noticing the interesting and minimalistic cover art. I wondered what kind of music was behind that picture so I clicked on it. I never even heard of the band (and still don't know much about them), but was immediately impressed, and purchased the download right away. The band seems very good at processing good music from the past 25 years and making something all their own. You will hear bits of 80's new wave, UK big beat, shoegaze, chiptune (essentially 8-bit and 16-bit videogame music), and plain old pop. It's fun picking apart the pieces and figuring out their influences (for a moment, I even heard some Black Sabbath!) They are apparently influenced a lot by UK music, so I was surprised to find out these guys are from Brooklyn. If you like My Bloody Valentine, The Postal Service, Jesus & Mary Chain, or others of that dreamy, rockin', synth ilk, I'm sure you'll enjoy this album and listen to it everyday, as I have.
Plus, for the month of February, the mp3 version is just $5. It's not much to fork over, and you're still supporting the artist. Don't steal music!

A note on the price of this album,
This review is from: In Her Gentle Jaws (MP3 Download)
I got this album when it was initially released - the first release by the band was at [...], where the entirety of the album was put up for free download by the band. Now that the free version is no longer available, this is a great way to support a great band while getting some awesome music in the process.
For fans, they also have a free 3-track EP entitled Nautilus available at the 8bitpeoples netlabel website ([...])

A beautiful mix of genres.,

Hey hipster, put down your PBR, shut up and listen. Do you like Chiptunes? Yes? Okay. Do you like Shoegaze? Yeah, I thought so. Could you believe that both genres actually work together to make an album of pure, unadulterated, weapons-grade awesome? Yeah.
This album is aces. It makes me feel bad that Cristoph and Kurt have ended this band to focus on the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, which I feel is a much weaker band all around.
