If you've been to Africa already, this cd will put you in the mood and make you want to go back for a visit! If you haven't been to Africa, then you'll want to go!
Songs number 2 and 3 are great and are my favorite!
Enjoy.

A wide range of ethnic South African music fused together with the rhythms of modern melodies. A must buy for anyone who appreciates real music and not the top-40 mumbo jumbo.

A great introductory album for those not familiar with Johnny Clegg and his bands Juluka and Savuka. This "best of" album includes some of his best tracks ever including a wide range of songs from 1982-1993. As a added bonus, some of the classic Clegg has been rerecorded for new versions. Don't miss the track "Tough Enough", a hauntingly prophetic song from his Heat, Dust & Dreams album. Clegg, as always, is ahead of the times, carving ethic African culture and rhythms and popular sounds to create his unique blend of great music. A must buy for the world music lover!

Your average American hasn't heard of Johnny Clegg and Savuka. Much less has the average American heard the wonderful fusion of thier style. But this is no average South African band. With lyrics that cry out against Apartheid rule and melodies that cry out with voices of the past, Savuka hits you with music that will leave you saying, "Viva, Mandela!"
