I didn't find this book in the travel section but I might have for it is a guide book for the inner journey with the destination being one's own heart. Once there, no other guide book is needed. This is a love story. It's our love story - the story of the heart - how to get there from here. --Deepam

I have read "In Our Hearts We Know" more than 10 times and spent countless minutes sitting with its pages letting the words seep in. It never ceases to amaze me how ShantiMayi uses language so magnificently and powerfully to transmit what is beyond words. Over and over again a single sentence or two resonate so deeply with my being, reminding me who I am and all things are.

Every time I pick up the book I discover passages that are like newfound previous gems. And sentences that seemed brilliant in a previous reading shine their wisdom even more. Furthermore, ShantiMayi consistently invites the reader to "conduct the experiment" , investigate for oneself through direct experience the truth of what is being said. So every time I reopen the book I get and take the opportunity to explore more deeply for myself the teachings offered.

During a recent time of extended sickness I was particularly grateful for this book's companionship and help in my discovering more deeply than ever that my heart's clarity and undividable love always carry me through any challenge. In addition, "In Our Hearts We Know" is a resonate companion, inspiration and guide for any moment and a whole lifetime...for people or any religion or no religion. It speaks to everyone.

Boundless gratitude to ShantiMayi for this most beautiful offering to the world especially in this time of great change when all are being called home to their heart to live from there.

This treasure chest of a book contains many gems that have multiple implications and uses for readers seeking Truth and a deepening of spirituality. For one, it functions as a guidebook or "Lonely Planet" to the Heart, directing the reader to the back alleys and unmapped terrain of the Inner Self. It guides the reader to dis-cover their True Nature (or rather to uncover what appears to be hidden) by suggesting "off-the-beaten" pathways to the Inner Self.

It also serves as an excellent reference book, specifically due to generous endnotes, which point the reader to additional sources, examples, stories and personal insights from ShantiMayi. These include definitions of Sanskrit and spiritual terms ranging from Hinduism to Buddhism to Shamanism (to name a few). Another good way to use this book is as a daily affirmation or message simply by indiscriminately opening the book to any page and receiving the offering that lies therein.

Furthermore, the brief chapters at the end of the book on reflections and suggested practices are invaluable, and alone, are worth more than the price of the book. Finally, the greatest gift this book offers may be (for some readers as it was for me) the direct transmission of grace, wisdom and love from one of the greatest, most insightful and powerful beings of our time, ShantiMayi.
