From the Back Cover

God waits for you in the wild places

If you're a hunter or a fisherman, you've been there. The moment of truth--that adrenaline-surging, heart-pounding instant when success and failure hang in the balance. In that moment, you don't know if you will experience the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat.

In Pursuit was written for you. With powerful truths from Scripture and true hunting and fishing stories that capture the thrill of the great outdoors, these reflections on the active life will help prepare you for success and significance--in the field, on the water, and in your life.

"Pipher is the kind of guy I'd hang out with in the woods and follow into church--a rare combination. If you want to worship God like a man, this is a great resource!"--Rick Johnson, bestselling author of A Man in the Making and The Power of a Man

"Zeke Pipher has spent his life exploring creation [and] shares what he's experienced and learned about creation and the Creator with this book. Everyone who enjoys wild critters and places will enjoy and benefit from In Pursuit."-- Dr. Grant Woods, wildlife biologist and host of www.GrowingDeer.tv

"Zeke uses simple times in the woods to speak to issues of life and Christian maturity. This is first and foremost a book about devotion, but it sure is fun to find those lessons packaged in a format I can identify with so well."--Bill Winke, outdoor writer and host of Midwest Whitetail TV

Zeke gets it. He's one of us. In Pursuit isn't an ordinary devotional wrapped in camouflage or nature scenery and marketed to men, it is a challenge and encouragement from one Pursuer to another.

Imagine a mentor that has spent many days afield, learned many lessons by experience, filtered through the gimmicks, and understands the true essence of the pursuit or activity that you enjoy. In Pursuit is like having that mentor, but the wisdom isn't for hunting, fishing, or recreation - it's for the life that all men are called to live.

Some days I am challenged by the Scriptures and Zeke's accompanying reflections, some days I'm encouraged, and some days it's both. Zeke does a masterful job expounding on Scriptures while balancing brevity, clarity, and engaging story. I truly look forward to opening In Pursuit each morning and setting aside time to focus on the Word and my place in this world.

Pipher strikes a great balance in his latest: In Pursuit. The book is written for men, by a real man, from a perspective we all understand. I loved it, and am giving it as a gift to several friends.

Honestly, I struggle with priorities as a dad, husband, business owner, outdoorsman, and friend. I think most men do. Especially men who are involved in the outdoors. We long for the adventure, solitude, and experiences that can easily draw us away from the most important things in this life. Pipher helps keep the reader grounded, speaking as though you were sharing a cup of coffee and swapping stories with an old friend.

In Pursuit challenged, encouraged, and strengthened my faith. It strikes that delicate balance of speaking as a man to men. Daily, the author is able to say the hard things, while also empowering and motivating the reader towards a life of purpose. Five Stars!

In Pursuit is more than your daily devotional. It's your favorite outdoor magazine with feature articles blended with the Lord. Whether you are a follower of 10 days or 10 years plus, In Pursuit will spark your inner core to pursue Him stronger. Zeke lays it out there for the everyday sportsman. Pipher is the guy that you read his material and want to spend a week in camp with. Straight shooting, direct but pleasant and a well-rounded sportsman. If you're looking for inspiration in the off season, or something to read while in the stand, In Pursuit should be at the top of your list.

I have been looking for a devotional book for our Outdoor Organization to challenge young men ages 11-18 during our weekly Bible Study. Zeke's book "In Pursuit" has been a perfect fit. It is short, to the point and gives a passage of scripture we can discuss on each chapter. What a GREAT book to challenge guys that love God's Creation - The Great Outdoors!! Thanks Zeke!

If you are looking to get started into devotions, or re start having devotions, this is a great place to start. Every day I read and study this, I want to spend more time reading from the suggested bible verses. My prayer and study have been lacking, but Zeke and the guys have made this daily study an easy and interesting way to read and study what God has for us to learn.

I have a shelf of devotional books, and I've even written one. But none compare to Zeke Pipher's In Pursuit. Each morning I read it, and spend the rest of the day looking forward to the next day's reading. Great nail-on-head stuff. Deep. Encouraging. If you love the hunting and fishing pursuits, get it. If you know someone who loves the same, give it. You won't be sorry.

This was my second book from the same author. The first, "Man on the Run" got me hooked...this devotional seems to be written directly to me. The book explains in detail the daily struggles we all have-sportsman or not. Just a few minutes a day to refresh your mind, clear your conscience, you are on your way to being a better person!

Pipher was written a compelling devotional for men who love the great outdoors. It's a deeply relatable and often beautiful portrayal of how men can grow in their faith through the majesty of nature. Pipher understands men and what authentic masculinity looks like. I highly recommend it!
