In a Rut -How to Get back on Track- by Frank Long

Book review written by Jackie Paulson © 2012

Frank Long talks about how to create your own vision for your life. We all have a choice to disallow discontentment from our lives. It is much easier to stay in our comfort zone and not venture out and try new things or take new risks. I know this is true the older I get, and I am in my forties already!
The first step is to set new goals for ourselves. For example the author talks about what we can and cannot say to ourselves.
"I want to write a book" becomes "I want to have a solid book outline by the end of the month." If we break our tasks, goals down then it is easier to follow through. I know this is true because I get overwhelmed. I have two books ready to publish, and between working full time and all of life's demands, I won't accomplish this goal until I sit down and write it down in steps.
Step two is to organize your time. The author says, "Time management is possible; you can only manage how you spend the time you are given. Instead of trying to push through the fourth dimension into the string theorists' haunt you should focus on what is crippling your day and retarding your progression to achieving your goals in life."
He mentions that when we talk out loud to others of our goals, then will become a reality.
The third step is to always stay positive. For example, Nike's slogan "Just Do It." This is a term you need to say to yourself every single day!
The forth step besides staying optimistic is to Believe in yourself. If you have to hand up post it notes all over the place, stay positive and believe in YOU.

At times in our life we will stumble an fall into what some of us call a rut. It's a normal things and you shouldn't feel bad when you do it. But, there is hope. In A Rut really does help you to get yourself back on the right track so you can get back to the good times. The book really hits on some important topics and I would recommend you get yourself a copy if you are finding yourself in a rut.

I liked the simple ways to think of your current state as a mere hiccup to a path of positivity and awesomeness. It's easy to stay in a rut when you're in one but it's important to acknowledge that you ARE in one and take action on getting back on track to a life you're meant to live: The good kind

I didn't read this. I just want this off my non-reviewed list. I went over my head getting books that I didn't really had the time to read. I may get it again who knows, but I doubt it. I gave it a middle rating so it won't alter good nor bad this book as I don't know if it deserves bad or good review. Sorry and thanks for understanding.
