WEL...what do I say.... if anyone is looking for a "Timothy" to serve alongside of you, then STOP.... don't make any other choices, until first you've read IN SEARCH OF TIMOTHY. This book asks all the right questions and gives the answers you need about who who is potential leader, how to do know if you an trust a perspective leader, and if you and that other leader are a right match! This book could save years of headaches and tons of conversations wtih your wife that could have been devoted to other subjects. why try to figure it all out on your own. Let Tony Cooke help you, as He has helped me.... You'll never regret it.

Primarily for church staff members and volunteers, but equally applicable to pastors, this book is a must read. Solidly based in scripture, personally challenging and edifying at the same time, this will help all church staff and volunteers realize the importance of their spiritual and mental alignment in regards to the mission of the local church. When we are brought into right relationship with each other, and our pastors, and understand our roles the power of the unity of Spirit is realized and released. Can be used (should be used) as a small group study as well. Fantastic insights.

I will admit it, I wish I had written this book - because its exactly what I would want to say to may staff about being an effective member of our team. But come to think of it, I'm glad Tony Cooke wrote it - because he says it much better that I could and its always good for my staff to hear someone else say it. This is the perfect book to have your staff read and to give to all new staff members." - Nelson Searcy, Lead Pastor, The Journey Church New York City, founder [...]

So much insight and wisdom for every team. We took our ministry team through this and have re-read a few times - most excellent. We recommend for every team or ministry staff - would be great for corporate leadership teams as well because the principles are universal truths that would build strong teams in every area of operations.

This book should be on the required reading list for all church staff, Elders, and Board/Council members. It would even be a good book for small group discussion.

The book is a in-depth look at the characteristics and requirements need to properly function in a ministry. The book looks at the relationships that is needed to fully and cheerfully support your mentor and/or leader. I looks at this from a point of view that the leader and the follower are not prefect but though the lesson learn from the bible the growth of the Church will happen because of the power found in true followship.

My favorite part is the look at the ministries of God and of Jesus. The outcome of the ministry is celebrated by the church but the events that lead up to that cause you to question things within yourself.

I thank God my Pastor choose this book to open eyes and hearts into the world of being a true follower of Christ through being a true follower of your earthly leaders.

Moving from the senior pastor's role to an associate role can be a real challenge. This book has been a great help to me in that transition. I highly recommend this book to be read by every seminary student, staff members, as well as senior pastor's. There are many of us who have been called to serve like Timothy, but there aren't a whole lot of resources like thus book. Here's to the Timothys out there who can see all of God's fullest calling poured out in service to the Church and our senior pastors we are called to support!
