I first heard this song on Pandora, and was impressed. I was about to buy the entire album, At Sixes and Sevens, but after listening to the previews of each song - wow! While I can applaud Sirenia for the ability to span genres of music, this "In Sumerian Haze" song is very pleasant, kind of like a darker version of an Enya song.The OTHER songs on the album made it so I got just this one song, rather than the album. From the previews, the other songs on the album sound like stuff that you'd listen to while sitting in your basement, putting electrodes into roadkill to try reviving it, all the while eating cute little kittens. Would definitely recommend just getting this one song. Maybe in the future, the artist can make 2 albums: one with pleasant songs, the other for the cute little kitten eating crowd. |
