What a fantastic album. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it as it was a departure from their style on "Lights and Perfections." That album had a prominent groove-element, which has been seemingly replaced by more technicality and progy-ness on "In the Taking of Flesh." The lyrics are just as strong on this album: from both their beauty and power, to their Biblical accuracy and representation of Scriptural Truth. I highly recommend a listen-through with the lyrics in front of you; it's an amazing experience. Each of the respective songs' structure really makes more sense in light of the words.

I cannot wait for another release from these guys!

If you love brutal sick music you should already have this. it is awesome!!!! Brutal and sick Death metal with touches of melody in the perfect places. This is Brutal and Jesus loving music. once again letting the Brutal riffs mosh around with the positive lyrics in your head is a good experience.

Do you like Gorguts? Morbid Angel before the last horrible album? Ulcerate? Behemoth?

Then you'll probably like this. The Burial combine those influences above with some other metal and core influences and have produced a real surprise of an album for me. Their first album on Strike First was more thrashy and didn't do much for me. When I saw the artwork looked so dark and creepy, i had to hear the album and I'm so glad that I did. Awesome drums and guitars are everywhere on this album. Well thought out arrangements; just everything; excellent

My only SMALL complaint is that I wish the vocalist did more of the lower register growling than the mid-high screaming style. That would put them more in line with the influences I lead the review off with.
