Cherry Adair's "In Too Deep" is her most spectacular novel yet. Tally Cruise, at her biological Dad's invitation, has come to the beautiful, private island Paradise that he owns. Finally, for the first time in her life, her estranged father wants to see her. No sooner does she arrive, then explosions and life threatening things begin happening around her. Ex Navy SEAL Michael Wright rescues her. But Michael has is own agenda to get rid of Tally's father who cost him his eye, his career, and the death of his best friend. The action is non-stop excitement, the sex really sizzles, and the dialogue is witty and funny.

Adair does a really good job in developing her characters - their passions and their fears, their strengths and their weaknesses. It's nice to find a book where you truly like both the lead characters, and truly hate some of the evil ones. Its also nice once more see the rest of the Wright family that we met in the first two books - Marnie and Jake, Kyle and Delanie, and a couple twin brothers, Kane and Derek, whose tales I'm sure will follow in books to come. Grab a copy of this book quickly - you will love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy Romance by Cherry Adair, August 28, 2002
With her typical cornball sense of humor, Cherry Adair tells the story of Michael Wainwright (an ex-Navy SEAL on an unofficial mission to avenge the death of his best friend) and Tally Cruise (estranged daughter of the man Michael intends to kill). There is so much going on in this thriller it is difficult to sum even half of it up. Michael is a pretty decent - if comical at times - hero. How could you not snicker just a little at a one eyed, tough as nails, ex-Seal with a water phobia, and a three-legged cat? Or a woman who seems to be so extremely clumsy she can hardly stand up on her own two feet, shows no fear of anyone, yet is afraid of the dark?

In Too Deep is a pretty decent novel once you get past the first four chapters. It just seems that the beginning is kind of stilted, and the humor seems forced at first. After awhile, you get into the story and the characters; by the end of the book I caught myself thinking Hmmm that was pretty good!

I would rate this novel R. Lots and lots of sex scenes the first of which happens the very first night they meet. And there are so many scenes that are almost relevant to the plot, I wouldnt advise skipping them completely if you do that sort of thing. And the language can best be described as salty at best. Violence isnt all that bad Tally gets the crud beat out of her on a regular basis. And what she does to one particular assailant made me laugh (and wince) until I cried!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much violence, not enough romance, February 4, 2003
By A Customer
This is the third book about members of the Wright family finding the love of their lives. Of the three, Kiss and Tell, Hide and Seek and this one, I like the Kiss and Tell featuring Marnie Wright best. It is more of a romance, while the other books are too action packed for my likening, with storylines that are totally over the top, bordering on the ridicilous in Hide and Seek. This book, "In Too Deep", is filled with people beating the hero and heroine up. Around every corner seems to be lurking someone, ready to attack the heroine Tally. And although she squeezes or kicks every attacker in the nuts, she gets a thorough beating, which is all described into every gory detail, as are the beatings that the hero, Michael Wright, must suffer towards the end. All this violence spoiled the book for me. Even the better "romance"scenes could not made up for it, such as the verbal bantering between Michael en Tally, and one of the best ... scenes ever: how a pearl necklace can give a lot of satisfaction....!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow! 3rd in the series, October 5, 2002
This is a wonderfully exciting series of books. It starts off with KISS AND TELL. The second book is HIDE AND SEEK. They all tie in with each other although they could also stand alone. The series is about the Wright family. There are several brothers who are all strong, dangerous, secretive men and thier sister Marnie who is just as strong and spunky. They are all somehow involved with a agency called T-FLAC which deals with ridding the world of international terrorists and crimnals. Its extremely exciting and the books are a constant suprise.

This is Michael Wright's Story. He is a deeply scarred man who is determined to see kill the man who is responsible for his best friend's death. He has come to Paradise Island to finish his mission only to find a slight unexpected problem, Tally Cruise. Tally is the daughter of the man Michael has to kill. Tally has never had a relationship with her father. He suddenly issues an invitation to her and she jumps at the chance to finally get to know him. Tally is thrilled until the boat she is on explodes, someone tried to kill her in her room and she finds herself falling for a man who is using her to get to her father. Tally soon discovers an inner strength and battles alongside Michael for what is right.

Michael is stunned by Tally. He wants her desparetly but is strugling with his desire to love her and his need to use her to get to her father. He has a strong sense of duty to both her and his mission. He will overcome his fears to save her and become whole again.

I really enjoyed this book. Its filled with passion, excitement, action and humor. I can't wait for more in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! FUN TO READ, October 21, 2002
In the 3rd of her series about the Wright family this time its Michael's Story. Her books just keep getting better.. It hillarious in places and the books has some very good love scenes..Being English and living in the UK.. I love her use of English slang swearwords that she has Tally using no doubt some of you wonder what she means in some them....Tally is a wonderful resourceful female who fights back.. Michael is a strong character too..The book is full of humour and sex and action WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT.. I can't wait for Kane and Derek's story... they are sure to be interesting because none of the brother are what they seem Kane being a Photographer and not just your magazine type either.. and Derek the Rancher his shall be the most interesting since he appears to have a normal life Not is think.. it did hit in the first book Kiss and Tell that none of the brothers had just the normal 9 til 5......
I consider this a keep series and down right exciting to read...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Disappointment !!, October 17, 2002
By A Customer
I have to say I was terribly disappointed in this book. I loved the first two books in the series and would give them 5 stars each. But this one I finally just gave up on and didn't even finish. I had really been looking forward to getting it......but after 5 or 6 chapters, I just decided that I'd rather spend my reading time on something that grabbed me....which this did not. I hope her next book is more of the caliber of the first two books Hide & Seek and Kiss & Tell.

3.0 out of 5 stars MEDIOCRE, November 8, 2002
I was very dissapointed of this book. Not that it was bad - it just wasn't as good as the other two [HIDE & SEEK, KISS & TELL]. As a huge fan of Ms. adair, I'm sorry to say that I regreted pre-ordering the book. It lacks two things:
1. Tally is a different kind of heroine than the other two, which I practically admired: they were actually female-warriors, equal to their men. Here it is annoyingly obvious that Tally is somewhat virginal (metaforically speaking)and sometimes even too-much-naive. I kept telling myself: "There must be some plot here; Micheal is going to find out soon she's not such a goody-goody girl; It's going to be interesting soon!" but she was, and it wasn't...
2. The other two books had such great suspence, I couldn't put the book down. I've kept reading till my eyes got bleary. That's what made me CA' s fan. But that didn't happen in IN TOO DEEP.
I'll look forward to her next book,as I keep dreaming of Hunt St. John, but I'll also wait for customers reviews.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deeply disappointing, June 4, 2003

Not up to Adair's usual standard. I don't mind if a book in this genre has an unlikely plot, but it annoys me when it is full of holes. The heroine is pathetic and not very smart. The writing is not witty or suspenseful and I ended up flipping through the pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Cherry Adair just keeps getting better and better!!, August 28, 2002

This book is fantastic. Ex-Navy Seal Michael Wright wants revenge on the man who murdered his friend - and when he meets the daughter of his enemy he thinks he's found a sure-fire way to exact it. Unfortunately Tally Cruise is not as close to Papa as Michael hopes, and when an attempt is made to kill her, he ends up as her rescuer. Now that he's got to know her, can he really use her for his revenge? Cherry has penned another great story in the Wright family series (Kiss and Tell, Hide and Seek). If you like danger, intrigue, a hot, hot hero and lots of steam, I recommend it highly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeply Entertaining, June 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
IN TOO DEEP is a sexy read. Michael Wright is a hot, bad boy pirate with a big heart. Tally Cruise is a funny and very likeable heroine.

The story, set in a beautiful paradise, is a good one. Good suspense and a lot of believable emotions.

While Tally looks forward to finally getting to know her father, Michael seeks to bring her father to justice for a variety of crimes. Michael also faces his deepest fear in order to do that, while trying to win Tally's heart.

This book is as good as KISS AND TELL, while I found HIDE AND SEEK lacking on many points.

I like that Ms. Adair has done a series of books on the colorful Wright family. As in any family, some characters have bigger flaws than others. In this case, Michael is a keeper and his story is definitely worth reading.
