5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh and familiar; varied style;gutsy, heartful voice.
In A Rushing Stream, is the kind of album that you can share with friends. I own a retail business and whenever the album is playing, people always ask to see the case. 3.0 out of 5 stars Nice and harmless
This album is filled with slow songs and rainy day ballads. It almost breaks into a neat realm of 'wierd ideas and sounds' on a few tracks, but overall stands quite mundane.

The solid vocals do sound clean and polished, it just makes you wonder what they wound sound like dirty and distracted. Maybe better....

In A Rushing Stream, is the kind of album that you can share with friends. I own a retail business and whenever the album is playing, people always ask to see the case. A lot of my customers have purchased the album after hearing it in my store. Although every word of the lyrics and every note of music is original, there is nonetheless, a feeling of familiarity, of comfort to Jayme's voice. When I listen to this album, I often think of Carol King,James Taylor or Joni Mitchell. Not because the music sounds like these other artists. Only that these are other artists whose music I was able to listen to repeatedly without growing tired of the music or lyrics. There is wonderful variety to the album's cuts and Jayme's voice has such versatility that I look forward to future explorations. Her lyrics have the ability to create pictures in the mind of the listener. I would love to see videos made from some of the selections, especially Alchemy, Documentary, Shape of Your Heart, and Circle of Joy. Those last two cuts have a deep, joyful, magnetic quality to them. I can tell that Jayme loves the folk rock music ala Joni Mitchell but I would also love to hear her explore the soul qualities that are expressed in Circle of Joy. This album is a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing Music!, November 30, 1999

From the opening song through the final note, I found a very nice touch of voice and instruments. The musicians were top notch and the engineering of the album was excellent. It's obvious that there is much talent in Jayme Curtis and we look forward to her next album!

This album includes a wonderful variety of moods, tempos, instrumentations and lyrics. Jayme has a beautiful voice and uses it well. Bruce Argyle's guitar work is outstanding. I had to order a second CD so my wife and I each could have one for our cars' CD players.
