I've had this album on my ipod for a couple weeks now and still haven't gotten tired of listening to it. In fact, I was finally motivated enough to get out and buy an FM transmitter so I can listen in the car. I keep forcing friends and family to take a listen so they can enjoy and appreciate, as well.
This is a truly well-rounded collection of music. I love how every song is different. You're not getting a bunch of music that all sounds essentially the same. The range is fabulous, everything from silly to thought-provoking. My favorite tracks: "The Book" - all about the things that society, friends, family and our own deep-seated fears tell us to believe about ourselves and how we should act. "I Like Bein' Here" - sexy, sensual, lovely "The Accountant and the Trainer" - Definitely my favorite overall. Such a sweet little love song, and still a bit quirky. Love to sing along with this one! "The Darkened Room" - This one had to grow on me a bit, but it has definitely moved up on my favorites list. Reminiscent of The Cure. Great imagery and a wonderful dreamlike sound. "What If I Was Wrong" - Another one with great imagery Around our house, we're also a big fan of "Tom the Cat". My five year old begs me to play this one over and over again. This is a great silly, fun, cute sing-along. I have to admit that the more "serious" songs are my favorites, but the crazy, funny tracks like "Raspberries" and "Fanta" are also great. I find myself humming them to myself at the strangest times! I can't recommend this great indie album more highly!
