Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The Play Big IN81 is another exceptional InFocus Full-HD 1080p DLP(R) digital home cinema projector. The IN81 utilizes the DarkChip2 DLP(R) chipset by Texas Instruments(TM), technology which which delivers deep black levels, pure whites, and subtle grayscale details. Also, the native 3000:1 contrast can be boosted to a maximum 10000:1 by activating the onboard iris.

Brightness & Video Performance
The IN81 is bright enough to deliver film-standard, D6500K color accuracy in nearly any theater, even with ambient light or daytime viewing. Producing video optimized brightness up to 1400 Max ANSI lumens this projector is spectacular and offers the flexibility to reduce brightness to improve black level performance in a dedicated home theater without dimming the picture.

Connectivity
The Play Big IN81 is virtually future-proof thanks to onboard HDMI 1.3 inputs with Deep Color™ support. This new HDMI standard can display up to 1.07 billion colors for a smooth picture without color band artifacts. The IN81 also hosts comprehensive connectivity & I/O, including DVI, and PC input, screen triggers, RS232, and an IR repeater input. (Deep Color requires HDMI 1.3 compatible media player & source material.)

Video Processing & Scaling
True video magic projected by the Play Big IN81 is thanks in-part to Pixelworks™ DNX™ 10-bit video processing. This is the same outstanding processing, de-interlacing, and scaling performance as the award-winning InFocus Play Big IN7x series. The IN81 hosts unrivaled built-in scaling support at this price-point for 2.35:1 aspect ratio, for a true Cinemascope/ widescreen without an external scaler (requires anamorphic lens, available separately).

Video Settings
InFocus Color Gamut Calibrator and ISF Day & Night presets allow for worry-free optimized performance at all times. Installers can "lock in" these ideal calibration settings for clients—an excellent value-add opportunity.

InFocus IN81 features:
  • 3000:1 native contrast, 10,000:1 (using iris)
  • 1920x1080 (1080p, 16:9)
  • 1400 max ANSI lumens (1100 lm Eco mMode)
  • 2 year projector, 90 days accessory, 6 month lamp limited warranty

5.0 out of 5 stars Why I don't want a TV ..., December 29, 2011

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: InFocus IN81 DLP 1080P 1400 Lumens Front Projector (Dark Chip 2) (Office Product)
I have this Infocus IN81 here in Brasil for two years. It is with 1.470 hours (lamp). All I can say is that I have a movie at home. I project it directly on the wall (white/grey) in more or less 130" and sit at six meters from the wall. I get a spetacular image with blu-rays like "2001", "Avatar", "Nine Inch Nails" and others. I don't want a TV !!!
