I love this kit. I am always in the kitchen with wet hands and hate turning my electric switch on with wet hands. My Jacuzzi has the same type switch and I figured i would try it. I installed by cutting into the sink top and mounted it without issue. This model has 2 outlets, one for the disposal and one for any other application. Make sure you plug your disposal into the correct switch or it will run non stop. When you engage the disposal it will automatically cut power to the other plug so I wouldn't plug in anything with a clock or anything you may want to run at the same time.

This is a nifty little dual outlet switch box that can let you avoid adding another circuit for all the stuff piling up under the sink (in my case I have a grinder, HC-View instant hot water heater, and a water filter system). In the two outlet version, outlet #1 is normally powered while outlet #2 is off. When the switch gets pressed (for running the grinder for example) outlet #1 turns off while #2 is powered. When you turn the grinder off, outlet #1 turns back on again. This is great because if you also want to add an instant hot water unit, you never see the loads of both the grinder and instant hot water at the same time. This is key because the dishwasher is often on the same circuit as well! All three loads at the same time could pop your house circuit breaker and so your options (if the wiring is potentially marginal to begin with) are to add this switched outlet, put a second circuit to the sink, or put in beefier wiring. Putting this in also allowed me to put in a GFI outlet which should have been there anyway (but wasn't).
This was a nice, clean, and easy install that solved what could have been a much more expensive problem for me.
The product lit was not entirely clear that the outlet function was either/or and not both. I did call and confirm this before purchasing.

Easy to install, and works as advertised. Don't buy at Lowes or Home Depot, you'll pay too much.

WORKED LIKE A CHARM....NO EXTRA WIRING, JUST PLUG IT INTO AN OUTLET AND HOOK IT UP. WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR MY NEXT KITCHEN.

Staying over to babysit our grandchildren
we feed, play, read, and rock them until they fall exhausted . . .
(oops that's us not them) into dreamland.
Now it's time to turn on a light over the sink
but trying to figure out which switch is which becomes a problem,
especially when you have just gotten the cherubs to sleep
and desire some much needed quiet time for yourself.
We're old, we get confused and because it's not our house
we have suffered the consequences of making the wrong choice.
To err is human but to air (switch) can be divine!

Having chosen the wrong one once too many times
prepared us for choosing this InSinkErator SinkTop switch for our home.
It is awesome, no confusing this with a light switch.
It works at the touch of a finger and works only when we want it to.
Installation was easy and we can finally say
we chose the right switch this time!

I have the InSinkErator Excel garbage disposal and wanted to add a hot water dispenser to the same 15 amp circuit. However, the total wattage would have exceeded the circuit capacity and I was concerned about tripping the fuse or creating an electrical hazard.

This sinktop switch solved the problem because it shuts off power to the hot water dispenser when the garbage disposal is activated. The switch has worked flawlessly since I installed it weeks ago. No electrical problems at all running both the garbage disposal and hot water dispenser.

My faucet only takes up a single hole so I installed it easily to an adjacent preexisting sink hole. I plugged the hole on the other side of the faucet with a $2 stainless steel cover from Home Depot.

I also like the fact that there is no electrical wiring to the button which means you can activate the disposal with wet hands without worrying about getting shocked.

The only negative is it did not come with a stainless steel or brushed nickel finish which would have matched my stainless steel faucet and appliances. They do offer the nickel finish separately but it is $25.

Bought and installed this for my daughter. It was easy to install and worked perfectly.

This product was installed within 30 mins this included the drilling of the hole. Very simple to install works great, clean and neat looking. I would say for anyone looking for this type of installation it is super.

I would give this product 5 stars, except for one thing: the size of the hole that it uses. For some reason, the two that I bought through Amazon required a slightly smaller hole for the button than the ones one might purchase at HD or elsewhere. So when my contractor drilled holes in the granite countertop "using the same drill bit I always use", the buttons literally fell through the holes! We tried jerry-rigging them, but eventually went to HD and bought new buttons that used normal sized holes.

I have not yet installed this unit - I have had one of these in a previous home and it a delightful extra to have instead of turning on a switch at the wall. It arrived quite quickly and was happy with the vendor.
