Instep's Stance on Safety Instep is a proud member of the JPMA organization and choose to have our strollers tested by an independent testing laboratory to the specific ASTM standard to ensure each and every stroller is safe. This stroller is advertised to only fit children smaller than 38" tall. My daughter is approaching that height, but I want to start walking/jogging 5k races more frequently, so I bought it. I ordered it last Sunday, it was delivered yesterday, I assembled it last night with the help of my husband, and I walked/jogged with it this morning in a 5k.

Assembly: It took us an hour to assemble it. First, we couldn't find the instruction manual in the box, and I couldn't locate the manual on the web, even when I visited the manufacturer's website. After we had attached the wheels, I discovered that the manual had been placed in the storage area under the seat. We then used the manual to attach the parent tray to the stroller and to figure out how to adjust the bicycle-style brake for the front tire.

5-point harness system: My child barely fit in the standard harness system with just her pajamas on, so I attached the harness extension (that was shipped with the stroller). After about 10 minutes spent adjusting the harness system with the added extension, I was able to fit it to my child and adjust it to accommodate her wearing a coat and/or blanket.

During the race, my child was able to place her foot on the front tire, but she is approaching 38 inches in height. She still has room to grow before she is too tall to have the really long "canopy" cover her head. She's a little too tall to lie back in the seat (her head touches the safety netting that is at the back. However, when the seat is fully upright, she was still very comfortable in it. In fact, she has told me multiple times that she loves this stroller, and that she wants to go for more rides in it. It's been a long time since she has asked to ride in our Graco IPO or our Graco Alano (2007/2008) model.

The handle is adjustable, and is VERY comfortable (almost ergonomic) to hold. The stroller is stable (as long as the inflation of the tires is balanced), and was very comfortable to push either one-handed or two-handed.

The wheel is fixed, but I didn't have a problem lifting it to make the necessary turns and adjustments for curves on the path of the race.

Size: This stroller is not good for navigating crowds, especially where people may stop suddenly in front of you. I look forward to using it in future races, and around my neighborhood that doesn't have sidewalks. It provides a smooth ride for the child on pavement, concrete, and on grass/dirt.

We purchased this stroller specifically for paved street running. First let me start by explaining what I expected in performance. I thought it woud be light & easy to handle. When I say "light"-I mean that it should almost be able to move on it's own. As for ability to manuever, I wanted it to turn effortlessly-to be able to turn the stroller with my child in it with one hand.Ok, maybe my old stroller had me just plain spoiled. Our old one is a "Kidactive" jogging stroller that is no longer made(boooooo hooooo!)that our daughter rides in & does everything I described above. We needed another one for our son & purchased this one after looking at several brands online & in our local stores. We thought for the price, it would be great! NOT the case.

Primarily, this stroller is very heavy!!! It feels like it's made out of lead(WITHOUT my daughter sitting in it). The ride itself is rough for my daughter. We would go over 1/2 inch bump in a sidewalk & my daughter would look like we just went over a curb w/o slowing down. The handlebar is adjustable & can click into several positions from the point of where the top of the canopy starts. I had to have it(the handlebar) at a 45 degree angle for me to be comfortable with it. But when I tried to tilt the stroller back(lifting the front wheel slightly)to get the stroller to make a sharp 90 degree turn, it felt like the handle was going to break. When you're running with this stroller, you have to keep both hands on the handlebar to keep it continuously under control as well as turn it in any way or form. I hardly ever have to use both hands with our other jogging stroller. The cargo space on the bottom of the stroller is very roomy but good luck getting any of your stuff into it. The top of the cargo basket is only about 3" from the frame of the stroller on the sides & if you try to get to it from the back of the stroller, there is a big lar across it w a "u" shape in the middle. Our daughter always takes her baby doll but likes it to "ride" in the cargo basket. With this stroller, you pretty much have to shove it into the cargo basket to get the doll in there. Don't even get me started on trying to get it out of the basket. I even tried to put a pair of shoes in there for her...we could...one at a time.

The stroller just wasn't anything like I hoped it would be. Running is tough enough without having to wrestle with the jogging stroller the whole way.
