4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Instep double stroller purchase.
This is the upgraded version of the 10K model they used to make. I have had that model for 4 yrs, running with 2 kids and 2 dogs 5 times a week.
I am an avid runner.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice
This is a very nice stroller, I got it for around $100.00. If I had paid more though, I would not have kept it. The buckling system is very difficult and not user friendly. The five point harness has a lot of threading and what not and therefore is not easy to use. Not the best buckling system out there and could use fixing. Otherwise, it is a very nice stroller.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Instep double stroller purchase., October 9, 2007
This review is from: InStep Ultra Runner 2 Double Jogging Stroller (Sports)
This is the upgraded version of the 10K model they used to make. I have had that model for 4 yrs, running with 2 kids and 2 dogs 5 times a week.

I am an avid runner.

I ran it into the ground. I broke off the right side frame lock because I didn't secure it correctly.

The rear suspension is good for other than road terrain, the wheels are a great size for a jogging stroller and I like the fact the front wheel is NOT a swivel- what a pain when running.

Lots of storage for bags/cameras/water btls/blankets.

My kids are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 and the older one still fits when the seat is in its most upright- fits even better when the seat is reclined some.

My big beef with this new model is the absence of padded seat liners that they used to include on the older models.

This is bogus. They of course sell them for $20 each, but hell, charge me $20-$30 more for the stroller and include them.

I will be calling and complaining to Pacific Cycle about that decision.

I took the old ones off my 10K model, washed them, turned them over and will use them.

That is the reason for the 4 Star instead of 5 Star- without the pads, the seats are not going to be very comfy.

Other than that, the 10K was SOLID and this model is a spitting image. I ran that thing all over, took it hiking, to Disneyland, etc.

Folds up nicely and even flatter if you remove the quick release wheels.

I have no idea why you would want a brake on the handlebars on a stroller. In all the running I have done, up and down major hills I have never, NEVER needed to use the hand brake. In fact I had disconected it on the old model and totally forgot about it.

It is not like you ever get to going the speed of a bicycle and would need that kind of help with braking and I believe your feet are on pavement when running- I tend to use the "Flinstones" method of stopping the stroller.

Fred's method not Barny's, don't be ridiculous.

The stroller is rugged, sturdy, not demasculizing and light.

The canopy is ok, but sun is going to get into their faces when you are running into it. I turn the stroller backwards and run pulling it in these instances. I haven't seen any canopies that would really be much better at sun blockage in early mornings.

A very good value for around $200, just horrible seat pad decision from the manufacturer.

This stroller is light weight, easy to maneuver (the non-swivel front wheel is best for those who walk at a fast pace or actually jog), and has nice large, inflatable wheels for making it over big cracks in the side walk and jumping curbs. It has sufficient storage areas and is very sleek and sporty looking. The kids enjoy it for our evening jogs.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: InStep Ultra Runner 2 Double Jogging Stroller (Sports)
This stroller is great for walking (I'm not a runner). The kids also sit up high (which they like). The storage area underneath is large and secure, and the tires are inflatable, so you can go over curbs, grass and bumpy terrain quite easily. Have used it hiking on fireroads; the strong brake is essential for the descent, and it works incredibly well...allowing you to keep control of the speed when going downhill. The strap placement is adjustable on top, so you can keep infants secure and then later adjust the shoulders when they get taller. I've had it for several months now, using it 2-3 times a week and it still looks new! very durable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stroller is great, September 24, 2007
This review is from: InStep Ultra Runner 2 Double Jogging Stroller (Sports)
The stroller has been great. It has a lot of storage and my kids love it. In fact, my husband has been using it. The only downside would be the position of the seats. My youngest wants to be more upright but the seats don't allow for that. My older son, however, is very comfortable. My dislike is the 5 point safety belts. They are difficult to use. Both my kids are very thin, approx 21 lbs, and it is hard to strap them in. It was enough for me to consider sending it back. But all the other great features are why i kept it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jogging Stroller, March 26, 2009
I love this stroller. I have a 15 month old and a 4 month old. We use the stroller everyday. It roomy and each seat can be individually adjusted, which allows me the opportunity to adjust the seat for each child. It has a large shade that helps protect the children from the sun. One drawback I have found is the fixed front wheel. I wish it had a front wheel that would move for easier turns. The stroller is also very large and bulky. It does not easily fit through doors. Other than those two minor drawbacks, it is well-worth the money. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable jogging stroller.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average quality stroller, September 10, 2007
The stroller is average quality. The material feels and sounds like paper. Enough storage in the back seats and the bottom and I really love that fact that it is lightweight (only 23 lbs). However, no front wheel swivel which makes it difficult on the turns. Amazon's delivery was awesome (in 1 day)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it., July 22, 2009
I have the red/black stroller pictured above. A few things you might be wondering (I know i was): the "red" is actually orange; the seats are orange mesh and have a zippered pocket behind each one, there IS a removable undercarriage basket included with the stroller; and the best part- is DOES fit through standard doorways. Yes, the double stroller fits through my front door, the doors at the mall, the zoo, etc. Although that's all a bonus because I bought this stroller to run with-which is what the stroller is, in fact, made for. On that note-the fixed wheel is a great feature. It is very light, the handbreak is nice, and it has a nice little basket-type thing that can be attached to the handlebar for keys, phone, id, etc. My one complaint is that the seats are pretty far reclined. This is expected with a jogging stroller though, and I simply knot the adjustment strap behind the seat once or twice before latching to shorten it up, thereby raising the seat-back a little. My other small complaint is that there is no latch or mechanism to keep the stroller closed when folded. Not a big deal, but slightly annoying at times. The front wheel is removable with a quick-release mechanism. I drive a Honda Element and the stoller folds and fits with the front wheel still attached in my trunk area like a glove. I just pot it out of the trunk and go. Overall, this is a super stroller. Especially for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic jogging stroller, July 8, 2009
By
I love this stroller. I did a lot of research on strollers to find a light weight non-swivel wheel stroller. At only 23 pounds, it is so light and easy to maneuver. I use it for both walking and running. My kids are 3 and 9 months and both are comfortable in it. I recommend this to all of my friends who are in the market for a double jogger. I read one review complaining about the seats not being cushioned and that is true but it hasn't seemed to bother my kids. The only downfall is the lack of a swivel sunshade but I knew that going in, due to the price range. I fixed the problem by purchasing a kiddopotamus sun shade. Buy this stroller and you will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars great stroller, September 24, 2008
This review is from: InStep Ultra Runner 2 Double Jogging Stroller (Sports)
this stroller is very nice. lightweight is key, especially when you add two children(20 and 30lbs. to the load:)) i've been able to complete as many as 10 miles with this stroller, so i'm definitely happy with it.

sometimes i find it hard to collapse with just one hand and there was a tiny fraying at the seam on one of the seats when it arrived.

altogether a great stroller though; worth the money. the kids like it too!
