My wife and I spent a great deal of time researching this purchase, and we tried many other massage chair products in various stores near our home, Relax the Back, Brookstone, and Costco among them. We came very close to purchasing at least 2 other models that ranged in price from $3000-4500. In the end - and with a sense that we were busting our budget - we took the plunge and bought our Dreamwave chair. We made the decision based on reviews and the first-hand experience we had when we tried the chair. (My wife and I tried the chair in a local store, and I actually tried it again during a business trip I took to S. California.)
After about 2 months of having the chair, we had a visit planned from our two grand children. I recalled hearing about a a child lockout feature, and I wanted to use this feature during their visit - reasons are obvious I think. The function requires a key...a key that I could not find. Desperate for this key, I called the service number on my chair and talked to - I think - the Inada people directly. I had to leave a message and I figured it would be days before I heard back. No more than 1-2 hours later a serviceman (he referred to himself as a "Chair Doctor," which I thought was a nice touch and made me chuckle) called me back.Read more ›
I am writing my review for the Sogna Dreamwave, which is what I have purchased and what this Amazon product is listed as. My purchase decision was based purely on the stellar reviews I have read on this product and the fact that this is the about the only brand that began in Japan and is still made in Japan. I am sick of owning Chinese crap that breaks, despite how well the American vendor says the quality is. Way too many moving parts in these things to risk quality woes. Quite simply, this is a luxury item with luxury benefits.
I did not purchase this item on Amazon. I bought it at a local authorized distributor. I was able to get it at 20% off due to it being the "older" model. It came new in the box; not a floor model. I also extended the three year warranty to five years as well with the same 20% discount. I purchased the unit for my wife for a Christmas present. I don't normally buy high dollar items such as this, but this is something that I know my wife will enjoy for years and that makes it priceless. I did the research. This is known as the most complex, yet trouble free chair on the market.
I paid for the white glove setup. It was delivered the next day and set up in my home by the delivery crew. It is thin enough to fit through a standard doorway, but it will take two people to carry the main unit. I recommend un-boxing it outside if stairs or tight corners are required.Read more ›
Massage chair it has changed my life for the better. I swear this is NOT a sales pitch and
I have no reason to promote this product - I just want other people who experience
muscle aches and cramps to know there's an alternative.
Initially I trialed the machine at an electronics department store about 4 hours
from my home. A hell of a drive but the trek was well worth it. After my first
run on the Sogno it "popped" a knot out in my shoulder that I must of had for years,
yet not known it. I ran through a myriad of program and settings for a little
over an hour before being politely asked to purchase the chair or leave. My body
was tingling with both relief and relaxation but my wallet remained closed,
I knew Amazon would make more sense to me financially.
Anyways after purchasing and receiving the chair each massage thereafter has been
both therapeutic and relaxing. For example every evening I run the "Sleep"
massage that gently but thoroughly puts pressure on each side of my body and
stretches both my shoulders and neck. Thereafter I sleep so soundly that my
typical wake-up of three to four times a night is completely eliminated. I
literally sleep like a baby again. The average run time of a massage is 15
minutes I believe, but there's a 10 minute massage as well entitled "Quick".
This massage combines all the functionality of what the chair can do in a speedy
yet functional rub down.
The bottom line is I am extremely satisfied with what this chair can do. Yes it's
expensive but simply stated you get what you pay for.Read more ›
