5.0 out of 5 stars A foreign time and location, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Inagua: An Island Sojourn (Paperback)

A great read, The true story of a Mid 20th century explorer from new England setting off and becoming shipwrecked on an island. Spending a number of years exploring the island alone with only slight contact with the other the inhabitants . Part travle journal, part zoological exploration. Surprisingly thoughtful concerning environmental and animal issues, the book is an interesting look at late 1930's naturalist thinking.

A thoroughly engrossing tale described (sometimes over described) in great detail. It's also an interesting look back at life on a small somewhat wild island during the decline between the two world wars.
