Book Description

From the author of Paramour.

After twenty-five years of cooling his jets in a wall sconce, Frank DeLuca figured the afterlife owed him a break. Hadn't he been a model ghost? He didn't possess little kids, screw up the television reception, or throw random objects across the room just to get attention. Hell, he never even made creepy noises in the dead of night.

All he asked was a peaceful existence where someone would turn him on every once in a while. The light, that is. He needed just a little bit of light in his afterlife.

Instead, he got a sullen, silent little boy who cried for his mommy every night. The kid came with a set of hyper-tense grandparents whose marriage was crumbling under the weight of old insecurities and words left unspoken. As if that weren't enough to drive a guy to hide out in his light fixture, providence tossed in a little spitfire of a girl who flipped his switch in every way. Gina Ferro turned out to be the kid's mother. She also happened to be a ghost.

Thrown together by Fate and bound by history, Frank and Gina must learn to trust each other with the keys to their pasts in order to unlock their eternity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grabs you and won't let go July 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I adored this book from beginning to end, with absolutely no clue as to how it would all be wrapped up on the final few pages (hell, the final few paragraphs). I thoroughly enjoyed Paramour, so it was a real treat to be immersed in the lives of the familiar characters, but the new ones were wonderful additions as well. Frank was one of my favorite characters from the first book, so I was so glad to see him be a substantial part of the story. No spoilers here, but let me just say it was so satisfying to see him have even one moment of happiness. Inamorata has everything you could ever want--suspense, humor, romance, heartbreak, and heat. Per Margaret Ethridge's usual stunning writing, every word packs a punch and no sense is forgotten. You feel every minute of the story and what is happening to these characters. I will say that you could certainly read this book without having read Paramour, but I wouldn't deprive yourself of the experience. Read them back to back!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read book June 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was waiting for this book to come out since the moment I found out the author was writing it---the prequel to this story is the novel Paramour, and if you haven't read that yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up. If you're anything like me, by the time you finish Paramour you'll be so entranced by the characters you'll be dying to read the continuing story of the people you've just fallen in love with. You'll get that and so much more in Inamorata. Neither book is a simple story, they're both rich with detail and interwoven plots---the kind of books you start reading and hate to put down because you just have to see what happens. I won't spoil anything, I'll just say this: read these books! You won't regret a single minute you spend with these characters in their intriguing, heartfelt story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb storytelling! June 26, 2012
By Katie
Format:Kindle Edition
Frank is a ghost who has been stuck in or near a light fixture for over twenty-five years. After Cam moved out and sold the house, Frank has been alone until the new owners moved in, which has left Frank with a toddler wailing for his recently deceased mother. Interestingly, the mother, Gina, happens to be a ghost and stuck much like Frank, except in the toddler's stuffed rabbit.

Oh wow. This is probably the most emotional book I've read this year!

Err... this review may have some spoilers for the first book Paramour. I always like to give a warning because I think almost everything is a spoiler.

Moving onward...

A quick plot/couple breakdown: Camellia (the old Frank paramour) is with her husband Brad. Yes, this couple has some time in the story and is a story arc that is solidly within the happily-ever-after. Enter Gina and her heartbreaking story. Honestly, I don't want to give much away because I cried early on for Gina and her little boy, Jaden. As a ghost, Gina meets Frank, the "other" ghost in the light fixture. Then, the surprisingly touching story is between Jaden's grandparents, Elise and Nick.

Sure, Inamorata is a ghost story, but the heart of the story is an emotional character study. All of the plots of each of these couples are intertwined absolutely beautifully and during the least expected times.

At first, Gina caught my attention. Really, there is no way to ignore her. Then, Jaden's story with his grandmother, Elise, stars in this story. Gradually, the plot leads from not only Gina, but to Elise and Nick. I loved watching Elise finally grow into the woman she was meant to be, even if it took tragedy to do so. Plus, I fell for Nick as the book progressed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Part 2 April 6, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The multiple couples that were part of the story were given the right amount of attention and the right amount of sizzleness to care for them and want to see how their relationship progressed. Of course this book was a part 2 so I was eager to see what happened next.

When she isn't tapping away at her keyboard, Margaret engages in an epic battle against her never-ending laundry hampers, cajoles the flowers in her yard, sings into her hairbrush, and has been known to hold entire conversations speaking only in movie quotes.
