About the Author

Rob Dell'Ergo was born in Oakland, California and grew up on the San Francisco Peninsula.

He served aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise from 1965-1968 with three deployments to the South China Sea. Rob received a BA in Education from Arizona State University in 1974 and moved to Australia where he and his wife Nancy taught high school for two years. After returning to the United States he became General Manager for the U.S. division of an Australian based company and travelled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, the South Pacific and Asia for 12 years. After completing his MA at California State University-Sonoma in 1985 he returned to teaching and taught high school English and P.E. in an award winning restructured school program at Piner High School in Santa Rosa. He retired from education in 1997 to pursue his writing goals. "Inaugural Season" is the first realization of that focus. Work has commenced on an additional non-fiction sports book, a local travel guide, and a first attempt at fiction (sports novel). When he is not writing he can be found at Pacific Bell Park where he works during the baseball season in the Guest Services department as a gameday employee.
