From Publishers Weekly
Maddox, a corporate star of the 1980s who shattered the glass ceiling at such firms as Arthur Andersen, Revlon and Capital Holding, in recent years identified an undeveloped market and developed a new business to serve it: a financing, consulting and services organization specifically for women interested in having businesses of their own. Here, in a generous conversation, she explains and codifies the philosophy and specifics of her enterprise: the importance of entrepreneurial character and ability as opposed to any particular business ideas; the often determining influence of personal relationships; and physical condition as a key element. In addition to giving a sobering discourse on money as a harsh reality, Maddox emphasizes "innerpreneuring," a combination of self-analysis and positive thinking that she says is a necessary prelude to any successful venture.

From Library Journal
Not exclusively for women, the process delineated in this book is for anyone in business or thinking of starting a business; the goal is to jump-start the reader into creating the business and the life she/he wants. Maddox, the founder of a company dedicated to helping female entrepreneurs, uses what she calls "innerpreneuring," focusing on oneself and creating a business from the inside out. Maddox tells readers to build their businesses and/or careers around personal values and to formulate personal definitions of success. A series of exercises and activities lead to concrete, action-oriented answers. Exploring life experiences, relationships, dreams, feelings, and self-image, readers arrive at their ultimate goal of success and a life/work balance. Because this process has a widespread appeal, all libraries should consider.
