5.0 out of 5 stars A necessary read for all entrepneurs
Inc. Yourself is a necessary read for anyone contemplating starting a business or repositioning in an already established one.I really cannot uderstand the negative reviews. They must be people who haven't read the book or don't understand business. On the other hand, don't make this your only book on incorporating. I bought this book with the hopes of getting a good step by step introduction as to how to start my own Inc. business. Turns out the author's presentation was way out of my league and was geared toward people who already have an established business. This book is mostly about the tax benefits a a established business would get if it Incorporated itself....This isnt a...

Inc. Yourself is a necessary read for anyone contemplating starting a business or repositioning in an already established one.I really cannot uderstand the negative reviews. They must be people who haven't read the book or don't understand business. On the other hand, don't make this your only book on incorporating. Two others I suggest are "Form a Corporation and Launch a Business in any State" and "The Small Business Legal Kit" by J.W.Dicks. If you live in Minnesota, then I salso recommend "How to Incorporate and Start a Business in Minesota" also by Mr. J.W. Dicks. My personal testimony is that I opened a busness in the St. Paul area using the information in these books and saved thousands of dollars.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good first step look at corporations, December 11, 2003
By A Customer
I only bought this book because I saw that it was recommended by Robert Kiyosaki in Rich Dad Poor Dad. And I have to agree with Kiyosaki that this is a good book for people who are buying their first book on corporations.

McQuown does an exellent job explaining the various types of corporations and the incorporating process. You will find information on C-Corporations, S-Corporations and LLC's.

This book is a good primer. In addition I recommend Rich Dad's Guide to Owning Your Own Corporation, Loopholes and Form Your Own Corporation and Launch a Business in Any State by J.W.Dicks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information on How To Incorporate, March 4, 2004
By A Customer
This is one of the top three books on how to start your business and incorporate with the other two being Loopholes of the Rich and Rich Dad's Advisors: Own Your Own Corporation.

Another would be How To Incorporate in Any State: Everything You Need To Form a Corporation by W. Dean Brown.

On S Corporations, the best book I have found is S-Corporations by Robert Cooke.

Everyone that I know who is successfu in business is recommending these books. And for good reason, they work and are written by people who have actually been in the trenches and speak from experience.

Beware of certain [some] self publishers who have never had any real business experience and merely plagerizing the better authors such as those mentioned above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lot's of good information in this book, January 2, 2004
By A Customer
Inc. Yourself provides a vast wealth of information on incorporating, the benefits you can get and why. Inc. Yourself is an easy read....pretty straightforward.

The fact that Inc. Yourself is now in it's 9th printing with more than 500,000 copies in print should tell you something about the great work done by Judith McQuown and the popularity of this great work.

As a companion to Inc. Yourself, You'll want to pick up a copy of Launch Business and Incorporate in Any State by J.W. Dicks and/or How To Incorporate in Any State by Brown.

This book deserves a solid five star rating and is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential first read in starting your corporation, March 4, 2004
By A Customer
Before starting my business, I consulted with several successful business people that I knew. Aside from getting some great advice, all recommended this book as a essential first read before starting my corporation.

Now that I have read it, I agree and wholeheartily recommend it to anyone who wants to start a business and their corporation, correctly.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good book to help you set up your corporation, March 4, 2004
By
I read the 8th edition of this book and got a great deal from it. Loaned it out, never got it back so back the newest edition. This is the book everyone else is copying. It's the best. Complete with forms and charts to help you get your corporation going.

I also recommend Form Your Own Corporation and Launch a Business in Any State and the Small Business Legal Kit, both by J.W. Dicks and Inc. and Grow Rich by C.W.Allen.

CAUTION: There are several books being put out by self publishers. These, some anyway are being promoted by paper tigers i.e. people who are writers only and have no real world experience. Much is outdated and the best of what they offer is in good quality books like this one and the others mentioned above.

Goff luck withyour business.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute necessity for those looking to incorporate, December 5, 1998
By A Customer
Before starting my own corporation I searched the internet and talked to other small business owners how they setup their corporations. I did not get much information from the internet and varying answers from owners. Most people had an attorney or accountant setup their corporation. I wanted to setup my company on my own. I then found Judith McQuown's book in my local library and found it to be an absolute necessity to understand the hows and whys of setting up my own corporation. This book gives you insight into the many different ways a corporation can be setup to benefit your circumstances and it gives you the reasons why your company should be setup that way. Inc. Yourself is written specifically for the one person and husband-and-wife business owners and dicusses everything from the initial paperwork to employees, insurance, medical benefits, retirement planning and much, much more. If you are thinking of incorporating you MUST get this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bible of Incorporating your business, January 2, 2004
I have read many books, talked to a lot of friends who started their own corporation and searched internet for tips. Without a doubt, Inc. Yourself is the "Bible" of Incorporating your business. Everyone that I know who is successful recommends this book. It is outstanding and will give you all the information you need to set up your corporation properly.

I want to caution you on the internet. There is some really bad advice with some people using the internet to hype their own books. Talk to someone you know who is in business. Check your local library and bookstore. HINT: If the book isn't available in the bookstores or your local library, it probably isn't worth your time.

If someone you know is a successful business person doesn't recognize a author, chances are the author is just a "paper tiger" with no real world experience.

I have not spoken with anyone who has not heard of Judith McQuown and everyone highly recommends her book.
