A voice like Andrea Bocelli's only comes along every generation or so, (if that) Caruso, Lanza, Pavarotti and Now Bocelli; They are my big 4. Not only does Bocelli have wonderful opera skills, but also tremendous pop singing skills, as well. As for classical singing; Bocelli's breath control is amazing; no one holds high, mid, and low notes (sang either intensely or softly) as long as Bocelli does. His diction is excellent; His tone is wonderful; His color is right in sink to the song being performed, dark or light, and all shads around those as needed. He has that tenor ring that can rise up over an orchestra, he sings just beautifully. As for his pop singing again it's spectacular; Bocelli can sing a pop song either in a classical way, or a bluesy way or almost anyway. He has tremendous versatility, I would rank him right at the top of pop singing for all time. Bocelli can sing big, bold, intense and beautiful, or can show us a soft side it seems like he is singing in one's ear, very sweetly and beautiful.

In canto is a CD of classic Italian love songs (Naples) and are many songs that Andrea has loved since childhood and most of us are familiar with. These songs were made famous by the great tenors of the 19th and 20th centuries, . In canto song selection includes Mamma; O surdato 'nammurato , Era di maggio , Un amore cosi grande , Non ti scordar di me; Funiculi Funicula; Granada, Voglio vivere cosi, Santa Lucia, Pulcinella, Non ti scordar di me, Marechiare, Vieni sul mar, Because, E vui durmiti ancora, Amapola, Un amore cosi grande. It is a wonderful selecton and I love the inclusion of Because, which I have heard Andrea sing live many times, It is the best version since Mario Lanza, and belive it or not Bocelli hits an even higher end note. You will enjoy all the songs hear they are wonderfully done.


This is a must have Bocelli CD.

This is absolutely the best of Bocelli that I have heard. What a grand collection of songs, and such a voice! Right up there next to Pavarotti!

Andrea Bocelli has a voice that is a gift from God. On this CD he mixes Italian and English songs with arrangements that include everything from lush orchestrations to snappy pop tunes. It will remind you of a stroll along the Via Veneto, a boat ride with a gondolieri in Venice, or a glass of vino in the piazza San Marco. A delightful offering for any music lover!

THE ALBUM IS VERY GOOD. HIS VOICE IS AS STRONG AS EVER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. FOR ITALIANS, IT IS A REAL TREAT.

Bocelli has most beautiful voice in the world. You will never tired of his musich.

I purchased this CD thinking it would be great. I am very disappointed in it. It is not the usual Bocelli music I have loved for the past few years, I find it more opera and not to my liking. I would not recommend this CD to others if they like me, like Andrea's previous PBS shows. This is not in the same class.

This was one of the best CD's every produced by Andrea Bocelli. Can't say enough about how wonderful it was and how much we enjoy listening to it.

BRAVO! Again the Tuscan master proves why it doesn't matter what language in which the music is "in canto" (in song), this album leaves you "incanto" (a "spell" or figuratively "delight" in Italian) with Andrea's sweet but powerful voice. I grew up listening to classic rock. Andrea has made me believe the world's greatest voices come from opera. With the passing of Pavarotti, Andrea is now the king of both the opera world and the crossover world now termed "popera". He simply has the greatest male voice in the world today. His best album is still Cieli Di Toscana. However, this is still a 5-star masterpiece - something we have come to expect from Andrea.

Get this album. I don't care if you don't like Opera.

I disliked Opera until I heard this album. Just stumbled upon it looking for classical music, and fell in love. As to another review, I do not think the lyrics are important, as I don't know the language, and the vocals are absolutely beautiful still. Could be singing about walking through the park for all I know.

Get this album. You will be stunned!

I own all of his music and enjoy it whether he's alone or singing with others. He has great vocal range and the ability to capture the essence of whatever he's singing. Try listening to his music with your eyes closed, and then maybe you can understand how he see's the music.
