About the Author

The third of four children and an introvert from the start, Jason Tesar grew up as an imaginative "middle child" who enjoyed the make-believe world as much as the real one, possibly more. From adolescence to adulthood, his imagination fed itself on a diet of books, movies, and art, all the while growing and maturing--waiting for its opportunity. Then, during a procession of monotonous, physically laborious day-jobs, his imagination leaped into motion, bringing together characters and locations of a world that would someday come to life on the pages of a book. In late 1998, Jason made his first attempt at writing, managing to complete a whole scene before returning once again to reality. A year and a half later, a spontaneous night-time conversation with his wife encouraged him to take his writing seriously and to keep on dreaming. Over the next seven years, Jason carved time out of the real world to live in an imaginary one of epic fantasy, science-fiction, and military/political conflict. The fruits of this labor would later become the first three books of the bestselling AWAKENED series. Due to the incredible support from readers around the world, Jason has continued his trajectory into make-believe, recently jumping from stable employment in the micro-electronics industry into the mysterious abyss of full-time writing. Living in Colorado with his beautiful wife and two children, Jason now spends the majority of his time fusing the best parts of his favorite genres into stories of internal struggle and triumph, friendship, betrayal, political alliances, and military conflict. His fast-paced stories span ancient and future worlds, weaving together threads of stirring drama and intense action that provoke reader comments such as, "I couldn't put it down," and "I'll read anything he writes."

I have to admit. I am confused by the negative reviews of this work. I don't know how one could explain the prequel to the Awakened series without the esoteric language and detailed description of the Angelic creatures, their hierarchy and command structure.

I found this book to be fascinating, fun, and fast paced. I related to the characters and was captivated by their interactions and complex relationships.
I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for book 2. I know the Awakened series came first but I almost wish I would have started with this book, ALMOST. Buy it and enjoy the ride.

I am also fascinated with tesar's self publishing and his commitment to break down the barriers between artist and consumer. I have no idea what this will look like or if it can even really work, nonetheless, I can't wait to experience the revolution.

After enjoying the first book the awakened series of The Awakened: Book One I immediately purchased part two and three. I waited impatiently for this prequel and was not disappointed. I have no problem recommending Jason's work to everyone I know that enjoys reading fantasy. I can't wait to found out what happens to Sariel and Sheyir in the next installment.

I echo the comments of Avid Reader and Kathy Kent. So sorry Jason, as I also thoroughly enjoyed every page of the Awakened Trilogy, but Incarnation was a disappointment. It was a cumbersome read and often times rambling and distant. A humble suggestion: please read the Awakened series again - the style in which you created and carressed the story was captivating and at the end of each book it left the reader yearning for more. I felt like I knew the Awakened characters and wanted to continue reading about them. My intent is NOT to discourage, as you demonstrated you possess a true gift for writing - whatever the storyline. Stay true to yourself and your writing style - you will succeed beyond your expectations. I will still buy the subsequent volumns, I want to know what happens to Sariel and Sheyir. Honest feedback can be a most useful tool. This comment is written with the best of intentions to an author in whom I am very impressed and expect great things in the future.

This book was somewhat difficult to read; for me anyway. The need for the supplied dictionary was paramount, with created names, places, and descriptive words.

I understand that Tesar is spinning a tale of make believe and fantasy in order to explain what may have gone wrong on pre-flood earth. However, the fantasy-ish selection of nouns causes me to question whether he played a bit too much Dungeons and Dragons growing up.

There are too many new words, descriptives, and names that are incredibly similar. I spent way too much time either confused, or going to the book's dictionary instead of enjoying the story.

The book presents an interesting concept. You just have to wade through the dictionary (and the sometimes "overboard" descriptions) and stay focused if you want to move beyond confusion.

Sorry Jason. I enjoyed the "Awakened" series (yes, I read all three) and intend to finish this series as well. I just hope this series matures a bit.

If you like fantasy, sci-fi with a supernatural kind of God, good versus evil thing then this is a series for you. This fantasy novel is a great vehicle for mentally detaching from our dimension and considering other possibilities. I actually like the wandering stars volume one better than Jason Tesar's other books in the offshoot series of this read. It may be that this book is a little more creative and requires the reader to incorporate more imagination. Jason does a good job with depiction and story line. Character development is solid. I would recommend this book to people, like myself, who enjoy the genre.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story behind Sariel and the beginning of the prophecy. I found the characters fascinating and completely believable. I find that Jason Tesar's writing is fluid and easy to follow. I enjoyed the development of the angelic language. It's difficult to develop a language and then use it fluidly throughout the story, but Jason does a superb job. I look forward to the next story in this series (that is after books five and six of "The Awakened" series).

This was an interesting and fun book to read. I had a hard time putting it down. The descriptions and story line kept my interest and it never really bogged down to a point of boring story telling. It didn't over explain details or characters in the story, so I was always looking forward to the next development in the plot. Good fiction.

Jason Tesar has done it again. This is an interesting take on the "Fallen Angel" theory. He weaves a good story line and keeps the reader interested. I'm wondering who turns out to be THE devil, but I guess I'll have to wait for another book in the series.
