This case for the iPhone 3G looks great, feels great in the hand, and fits perfectly.

The edges of the case grip so tight that it causes my protectors to bubble up around the edges - sometimes so deep they protrude into the viewing area!
Structured
I ended up with the Speck Geometric case, which was recommended to me at the Apple store.

I have tried about 3 different cases for the iPhone and this is by far the best I have tried. It fits the phone perfectly and creates a very nice seal that prevents dirt from getting behind the case and scratching the phone. It's also ideal if you happen to own an iPhone dock as you can take the bottom piece out very easily, while having enough grip not to come out during normal use. One thing to watch out for if you use a screen protector: you will probably have to cut it a bit around the edges for it to work with this case, because the fit is so tight, even the thin sheet of plastic of the screen protector gets pushed out of the edges.

I would definitely recommend this case to anyone.

I've searched in stores and online for the perfect Iphone 3G protective case. I looked into Zagg's protective film for the entire case, but if you drop your phone, the film will protect from scratches, but not from cracking the unit. The perfect solution is the InCase Slider! This case has it all. Great look and feel, hard case yet soft to the touch. It doesn't stick to the insides of your pocket and it's one of the thinnest profiles you will find in this style of case anywhere!!! Be sure to get the CL59055 model Slider. There is another InCase model called the Slider as well, but the other model has a funky grip pattern and will be more tacky in the pocket, thus pulling the pocket inside out. Buy this product! You won't regret it!

I have a similar problem as reviewer 3GOLDENS did regarding the warranty. I bought the slider case and now the rubber sides are peeling around the areas where I hold the phone.

I filed a claim on the Incase website and they will not honor the warranty for cases sold on Amazon because it was "purchased from an unauthorized reseller and because we have no way of knowing the condition of the product at the time of purchase."

The design of the slider case is nice and sleek, it's just unfortunate that I can't get a replacement for the defect.

I tried a number of cases for my iPhone 3G and every one always had some major drawback. While in the Apple Store I saw the Sliders and liked the look. I went home and did some research and decided to give it a shot. I can happily say that my search for the ideal case.

PERFECT FIT
Every port lines up perfect and there are absolutely no gaps. The chrome bezel is completely covered and the only things exposed are the buttons and ports and they are only open enough to allow operation. The silence switch is as easy to operate as it it with no case at all. There are no snaps, it uses friction to hold the two pieces together yet it has never even tried to come apart (pretty cool). The earphone jack is wide enough for even bigger 2.5mm jacks.

NOTE: If you use a screen protector, I found it best to put the case on first then apply the screen protector. The fit is so tight that even the slightest misalignment of the protector will result in the case pulling up the protector. Using the case first-protector second method, I installed Power Support Anti-Glare's screen protectors on both my and my wife's phones with no bubbles or edge lifting even after removing and reinstalling the case several times.

CUSTOM LOOKS
With a ton of colors, you're bound to find a color that suits you. I use a red (actually burgundy one) while my wife has a bronze one.

THIN BUT TOUGH
The case adds very little bulk which means that you can easily find a holder to fit it (I use a Marware CEO Premier while my wife has some designer one). It has a raised bezel so you can lay the phone on a table screen-side down with confidence. I dropped my phone from height once and there was no damage to either the phone or case but I wouldn't want to do that a lot.

I honestly have absolutely nothing negative to say about the Incase Slider. It's one of the few products that exceeded my every expectation.

A few other reviewers mentioned the poor quality of this thing--I agree. The matte coating is evidently a very poor paint job, as it began peeling off within a couple weeks after basic wear n tear. It also scratches VERY easily, and reveals the glossy case underneath the coating. Considering this case is meant to protect your iphone, you'd think it wouldn't require you purchase ANOTHER case to protect itself(!!!!!) Maybe that's incase's strategy? ;) They could start selling cases for their cases... But seriously--i'm shocked at how this thing's durability is non-existent. It's as if they painted their glossy black case with a poor man's matte finish (that peels off with the slightest nick or scratch), and sent it off to manufacturing. Pathetic.

Do NOT buy this product. I feel like i got ripped off. Apple stores should stop carrying this product--horrible.

I wanted a hard case rather than a silicone one for my iphone 3g. I also wanted the silver bezel to be covered up. Personally, I don't really care for the look of the bezel. Also, it scratches easily. First thing I did was to put on a power support crystal film the day I took the phone out of the box. This is a static cling film that is very easy to place on the viewing screen of the phone. The second thing I did was read reviews and decide on this case. The case installed quickly, and does not add much overall bulk. Though I have to say that the phone feels much heavier than it did without the case. Not sure if that is in my mind because the case is light as can be. Also, I did not have a problem with the case not fitting properly with my protector film on it but it sounds like if you do have a problem, the key is to install the case first, than a screen protector.

The apple website mentions that some brands or types of cases might cause the phone to get too hot when charging, so you would need to remove the case each time you charge if your phone seems unusually hot after charging. What a pain that would be. My phone was not hot at all, and that is another great thing about this case. It does not cause overheating.

This case is sold out all over for a reason. Great protection, sharp looking, good feel in the hand, and reasonable price.
