As someone who has used all types of incense for years, and tried all types of holders/methods for burning incense, I learned that this style is by far the best choice for stick incense (and it works fine for cones too). One reviewer commented that the hole in his was misaligned and too large. However, people who buy a lot of stick incense know that the sticks vary a LOT in size/shape; and the sticks often aren't completely straight, either. I've never had a problem with these holders. The ash usually will fall in the center and, even if the ash doesn't fall precisely into the center of the holder, it's still plenty wide enough to catch all of the ash, and I certainly never had a problem with spilling when moving these holders. They are sturdy, stable, can be placed in a multitude of locations around the home, and stack with each other for storage in practically no space. If you use incense and haven't gotten any of these yet, you should definitely get a few (probably enough so that you have one for every room in which you burn incense).

For the price, it's a very nice incense holder. It's fairly no-frills, but still attractive enough that I don't have to hide it when not in use. I'm pleased with this purchase.

This is simple technology, but it works, every time! The price was right as well. It's easy to use and I'm pleased with it.

It seemed just fine until I tried to put the incense in. The metal holder was only half as big as it needed to be. After removing it and digging the hole out to the correct size, it was serviceable, but I shouldn't have had to do that!

Wood is warped and uneven, cracked in many places, especially around the star inlays. The edges appear heavily worn and scratched as if this item is used for a long period of time. The hole for the insence stick to be put in has splinters of wood sticking out of it. The picture does not represent the product I received. I will be returning this and purchasing a different one.

This incense holder has a pretty nice design and it catches the ash nicely. It wont tip over if placed on a sturdy and flat surface, it is very reliable.

Not much to say its the classic and simple design that makes this incense holder great. The woods solid the designs on the sides are nice and best of all the ash falls right on the holder A plus.

I don't use it all too often, but I think it's been great so far! Although, I should warn future potential buyers that when I used it, I accidentally punctured a hole through the base when I first put an incense stick in. Also, the hole seemed to have gotten larger as that it didn't seem to hold up the incense as well as when I first used it. Other than that, it's been great!

This incense burner is made of sturdy wood; however, the disappointment comes in with regard to the workmanship. First, the hole drilled for the incense was full of sawdust, and it was overflowing from the hole. Rather than blowing the sawdust out of the hole, they LEFT IT IN, then PAINTED OVER IT! So you have to dig out all that before the incense stick will fit in. Of course, it's kind of hard at that point, because the paint has mixed with the sawdust and hardened it all up. Then, there are gold stars embossed down the length of the burner. One of them was only halfway stamped on there, making it look old and used. In addition, the symbol printed on the bottom was off-center. I can imagine a poorly-paid person being forced to make several hundred (or more!!) of these per day, probably somewhere in Asia...so I can imagine why they look like this.

So if you don't mind the workmanship issues, you can rest assured it'll be a sturdy burner, at least.

This is a low priced incense burner of acceptable quality. Its long enough to handle full length incense sticks but could be wider. At the current width, you have to be really careful that the stick is straight otherwise the ashes will spill over the sides.
