Best style overall,
This review is from: Incense Burner ~ Traditional Incense Holder with Inlaid Design ~ Approx 10 Inches Long (Health and Beauty)
As someone who has used all types of incense for years, and tried all types of holders/methods for burning incense, I learned that this style is by far the best choice for stick incense (and it works fine for cones too). One reviewer commented that the hole in his was misaligned and too large. However, people who buy a lot of stick incense know that the sticks vary a LOT in size/shape; and the sticks often aren't completely straight, either. I've never had a problem with these holders. The ash usually will fall in the center and, even if the ash doesn't fall precisely into the center of the holder, it's still plenty wide enough to catch all of the ash, and I certainly never had a problem with spilling when moving these holders. They are sturdy, stable, can be placed in a multitude of locations around the home, and stack with each other for storage in practically no space. If you use incense and haven't gotten any of these yet, you should definitely get a few (probably enough so that you have one for every room in which you burn incense).

For the price, it's a very nice incense holder. It's fairly no-frills, but still attractive enough that I don't have to hide it when not in use. I'm pleased with this purchase.

I read some reviews about misaligned holes, but decided to try this product anyway. I should have heeded the warnings, as I ordered two of these, and both came without any holes whatsoever, so there was no place to insert an incense stick. I had to return them both.

I decided that scented candles were a bit expensive, and limited in aromas. So when I picked out some incense sticks of various scents, I needed a holder and picked this one. When it arrived, it was attractive, but missing the hole. But unlike the reviewer that gave this a one, I just drilled the hole and moved on (remember to size it to the preferred sticks you have and at a twenty degree angle or so). I would have gave it a 5 star, but without the hole, not very usable.

Works fine. I ordered 2. One looked nice. The other one I got looked like it was probably used - about half of the inlaid stars and part of the inlaid Ohm had fallen out and the wood was scratched up, well worn and stained. Was inexpensive, so I don't really mind that it looks bad, but I do mind having been tricked into buying what appears to be a second hand product.

I've been using incense (Nag Champa Incense Sticks 100 gms but having this catcher around is so much easier than just lighting an incense stick and sticking it any where you can balance it without causing burn marks (alarm clock radios for instance...err I should say melt marks). Go ahead and get it and also treat yourself to some of those Nag Champa incense.

Just like other reviewers, mine arrived with the hole for the incense stick obscured and drilled at an angle. With the hole misaligned like it was, the incense swung out away from the holder by an approximate 45 degree angle. I solved the problem by wrapping a rubber band around the holder's end and rolling it down over the incense. Now, it sits parallel to the holder axis and the ash falls where it should. I would've thought they'd have a jig of some sort to hold the piece while drilling the hole to keep it somewhat square, instead of looking like it being done completely by hand. The holder does look nice and subdued, with little brass inserts and made out of a dark wood similar to walnut. The sticker said it was made in India.

i've bought a couple incense holders in recent months. this one is the cheapest, but the best. simple, functional, and it looks pretty good, too.
i drilled an extra hole into the thing to handle fatter sticks. most fit in the one they had drilled, but thicker ones that you often get with handmade sticks did not. the extra hole covered that. another thing i like is how easy it is to put the sticks in. with the box incense burner i bought previously, i could never find the bloody hole.

This burner is inexpensive and slim. It goes well with the incense, but it doesn't hold the ash. Almost half the ash falls outside the burner even without any breeze. Stylish but messy - not the one I want.
