have a gateway laptop purchased in 2007 with an intel video chipset WITH TV OUT CAPABILITY connected to computer connected to male rca cable connected to regular non-digital tv no problems great deal I READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE I BOUGHT don't complain about a product not working if you do not know how to use it

The brief "Technical Description" says that this adapter will allow a PC VGA output to be played on any TV with an RCA or S-video input. This is not strictly true. Buried in the "Product Details" section the ad also says that "To make this connection possible, you must have ... a high resolution capable VGA to component video transcoder (A transcoder is a device that transforms RGB signals into component video signals)".

That is, unless your PC happens to have a VGA card that can "support TV out directly through VGA port function", such as the one of the ATI Radeon graphics cards. If you do not have an ATI graphics card or similar, you will need to purchase a high resolution capable VGA to component video transcoder.

Caveat emptor: read *all* the information in the description before you buy this, so that you know what you're buying.

I bought this hopin I could hook up my laptop to my flatscreen. I didnt work. I do not reccomend this product. Sorry for my spelling.

This item will not work for digital monitors. I was trying to use it on my HD monitor to hook up older game systems/VCR to use the tv tuner. Neither would be recognized by the monitor. I'm pretty sure you need an analog to digital converter to hook up older systems if that's what you're trying to do. Anyways, if you aren't positive that this is what you need, don't waste your money.

I couldn't use is on my computer because my computer does not have tv-out. So make sure your video card has tv-out before buying it.

Amigo, soy ingeniero en computacion y te digo que esto no funciona, te dicen que bajes un archivo pdf, pero no dicen de donde, porque la caja no trae nada escrito, ninguna instruccion, pero igual asi te digo que hagas lo que hagas esto no funciona.

Yo compre 3 y no funciona ninguno, no botes tu dinero.

This item DOES NOT work. I work in IT and am very familiar with cabling, connections, hardware, etc. I read all other reviews and figured I didn't have much to lose because of its low price. But I received it, plugged it in, and NOTHING! If you want to waste $4 go for it. It may, however, make a cool paperweight. :)

This cable doesn't work. I wanted to connect my laptop to projector using this cable and it doesn't work. If you don't have TV out in you laptop you will need separate converter. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
