I bought it for my husband's birthday so he could use it when he plays classical guitar. He liked it because it's confortable and he can put it away easily. He only enjoyed it for 10 days. One day while he was playing the stool broke and my husband fell on the floor. He did not hurt himself but almost damaged his very expensive guitar. I felt very bad for him. The problem is that the metal is very thin and not strong enought.

I'm 160 pounds and it worked fine for me. My husband is over 160 and has bent two of these stools by racking sideways.

This review is from: 18 Inch Cushioned Folding Stool with Safety Lock (Electronics)
It seems like the perfect stool. It's portable, light, and easy to set-up/take down. The biggest flaw is that it falls apart at the slightest movement in the wrong direction. Say you need to move out of the way, while someone passes behind or in front of you or because the nurse needs to get at bedside with a patient to give them their medications. You have a big guitar on our lap while balancing a music book on your other knee. Just standing up and moving is rather difficult, especially in a tight space. So you scoot around to make room. That only begins to stress the metal with the slightest little bend. Soon one of the bottom bars gives way, and you are on the floor. This scenario has happened to me. I've gone through 6 stools. The only thing wounded in those falls was my pride. I'm not that big of a person. I cannot find anything that provides the portability of of this stool that folds so easily and doesn't need a carrying case. So I'm stuck with this stool. Camp stools and chairs won't do. I am a board certified music therapist who works in a hospice setting. I go see patients in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and homes. Often times there is not a chair for me to sit on during my sessions with patients. This stool is so easiest to carry around when I have a lot of other things to lug around. It sits me at the right height when I'm at bedside with a patient or if the patient is sitting in a wheelchair. So buy this stool at your own risk. It's best for very light use. Metal fatigue is the biggest issue.
