Clumsy design and ships with obsolete adapter
on April 8, 2013
There are 2 things wrong with this item, and the price isn't one of them. The first is that the sliders that brilliantly adjust to hold in your device only clasp to the top and bottom of your tablet...not the sides. So if you don't carry the stand in landscape orientation, your tablet can slip right out of it onto the ground. Who thought that was a good design? Another couple of clips on the sides and this device would be HEAPS better.
The second problem is that the keyboard ships with a USB adapter that has a mini USB plug to plug the keyboard into your tablet. I don't believe there's a SINGLE tablet manufactured with a mini USB port. (That's the kind of port you see on really nice digital SLR cameras, and older cell phones from the mid 2000s.) Modern tablets and phones use micro USB. So if you buy this case intending on using it with a tablet, and not an ancient smartphone from 2004, you will need to acquire a SEPARATE adapter, with female USB on one end, and micro USB on the other. You can get one here on Amazon for a couple of bucks. But the manufacturer REALLY should be shipping this item with micro USB. The adapter they ship it with made me giggle a bit, as it couldn't be used with ANY tablet out there.
